Tomorrow, Nintendo will be doing a Pokemon showcase thing. It's like we are getting our own mini E3 this week with all these company showcases. Nintendo direct, Pokemon, Blizzcon, Sony State of Play. I guess Microsoft better get some shit together to join in on the fun right?

Anyway i don't really know what to expect at this point. Maybe more into of the Pokemon Snap remake, and maybe another Mystery Dungeon thing. I don't know if we'd get new mainline pokemon games already right? Has Sword and Shield been out long enough?

I've owned about a dozen Pokemon games over the years, but the only one that I actually sank a decent amount of time into, was Pokemon Ruby, back in, what? 2003/2004?

I can't imagine that anything shown here will get me to jump back in.

My best friend is fucking nuts for Pokemon, though, so im sure he will be having the time of his life - whatever it ends up being.

As an aside, what is the appeal of Pokemon Snap? I played the original on the N64, but I just dont get why it is so well loved. When you break it down, it is really just a light puzzle game on rails, right? Is it just all about the license?

Looking forward to more Snap news at least. Wouldn't mind me a Diamond/Pearl remake that gets rid of HMs too.
Oh man, a remake of Diamond and Pearl would be just the fucking ticket for me. I have the OG ones but they play.....slowly, if that makes sense. Like its being emulated on a terrible PC and dropping frame. Its weird, so yes, ORAS style remakes for them please Nintendo.

You have to understand how it was at the time. Pokemon Snap was our first look at what Pokemon act like when they are just out in the wild, and it's still something that doesn't really get shown in the games much at all. For kids at the time, it was our first look into what the world of Pokemon looked like when it wasn't heavily abstracted in sprites and turn based battles. And yes, the anime existed, but kids aren't dumb, they can tell that the anime and the games aren't operating under the same rules.

This seems to be the desire for all the fans right now. Twitter is a buzz with people clamoring for those remakes.
