The AR-55 from Saints Row the Third once you upgrade it as well as all the laser weapons from that game as well. The AR-55 is good when you first get it, but once it gets the five round bust it's just a waste of time and money, and if I wanted to hit something from long distance I would just use my sniper rifle. The laser weapons are useless because they overheat too quickly and take forever to cool back down.

They're useless against human enemies, but they do a ton of damage to vehicles. You can shoot a tank to death with the laser AR.

That sounds like an issue with your system or game. I can land maximum draw distance shots 90% of the time with the Ratslayer Varmint Rifle or the Gobi Scout Rifle, on the Xbox version of NV.

False. The Solus Greatsword was a heavy weapon and, thus, had all the problems of such. Heavy weapons have a slow swing (you could land 2 blows with the Avo's Tear/Sword of Aeons by the time the Solus finished up its swing) and if you got hit with one out, you could be caught in a very annoying stunlock if an enemy decides he wants to hit you again. The AT/SoA had none of that crap and also had one of the best combination of augments. (Experience, Health, and Mana) The Solus may do more damage in one swing but the AT/SoA had higher DPS with none of the drawbacks of a heavy weapon and some nice bonuses.

Also, the Sword of Aeons, both visual and story wise, was just completely boss.

If you really want to deal damage in that game, I recommend the shotgun, fully upgraded, and with the "burst" upgrade. That thing is an absolute beast, doesn't take up much room, and can stop pretty much anything. I used it on every boss battle I fought during my stealth run.

OT: Pointless weapons? I'ma put my chips on the golden sword from minecraft. It does the exact same damage as the wood sword, has about half the durability, and is 100x harder to make than a wood sword. Sure it may be in the theme of a realistic portrayal of gold, but it is completely redundant and near useless.

When I first saw this thread I was going to say the Gravity Gun from Half-Life 2 but I'm not sure it count (Seriously what is the appeal of that gun its good for physics puzzles but thats it).

I would say any of the rifles from the Borderlands game, please note this does not include sniper rifles. I have yet to find one that did not pack a disapointing punch, lousy rate of fire, or magazines so small that they belong to rifles used in World War One, and in some cases suffered from all three.

Agreed. Although useful as a means to an end to get something better along the way, I'd also like to add the Fork of Horripilation [http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Fork_of_Horripilation] from Morrowind. I have to admit, it must've been hilarious from Sheogorath's point of view when he handed some unnamed adventurer a fork that completely drains their magical abilities and told him/her to kill a giant bull netch with it.

The A.J.M 9 from Blood Dragon. I've always had a thing for pistols. It takes a professional to get headshot after headshot with just a handgun. But even with my handgun fetish I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Less damage than flicking stale cookies at a brick wall, pathetically inaccurate, never hitting where you want it to and uncontrollable recoil. It's got a large mag, but with the amount of bullets you'll need just to kill a fucking robo dog, its unsatisfactory to say the least.

I've got a handful of kills with the AA weapons in BF3. Mostly with the emplacements and the mobile AA, but I've got about 5-10 with the stinger and it's Russian equivalent. Not once been kicked while playing dedicated AA or even combat w/ AA. I think you've just had bad luck. Though with the later patches getting AA kills has been getting more and more difficult.
Doesn't seem that difficult for the 4 odd dudes who use it on me -_-

Yeah at any merchant you could buy all the stuff (In one go!) of what ever he had the most of. Due to Fables market mechanisme, that would also be the product with the best priece.
Now the merchant has none of that product, so he/she is willing to buy it all back for more money then it cost you.
Repeatingly doing so can easily get you 10 times more money then you started with.
Also there is a fame exploit / money (but not much) exploit. Marry in Oakfield, or any other town where you can kill people. Marrying will grant you 1000 fame and 1000 gold. Buy lots and lots of weading rings in stock and a view presents for those early victims. Marry any random person, kill said person, congratulations you can now marry again, and you're more famous.

Counter Strike's Dual Elites/Berettas - no damage, no accuracy, no use
Vampire Bloodlines - the little revolver-thingy - lolw00t?? (real vampires fight melee only, anyway :D screw them pea-shooters!)
Doom 3's assault-rifle/machine-gun thingy - derp.

aaand Max Payne's Ingram - spray 'n pray, but keep in mind: there is no god that could answer your prayers xD

i also completely agree on ME 1's sniper rifles (the strong ones generated too much heat - give me a decent AR any time; also, sniper rifles are for range - there was no range in ME. ever. (ok, except maybe at the end, when Sovereign was at the Citadel, but then you should have ARs so good that you can "snipe" with them)), and Goldeneye's (gosh, how can one make a game SO awesome??) Klobb. which hit nothing. and if they did they dealt no damage.

I had the opposite experience with this weapon. It did more damage than the 6-shot shotgun, had a larger clip and better fire-rate, plus you could use the military-grade ammo for it. That's 2033 though. If you're talking about Last Light, I agree 100%. The 2012 in Last Light is GARBAGE, GARBAGE, GARBAAAGE!
I never used it in LL due to my experience with it in M2033, the Kalash is better in every regard, with the exception of fire rate.

Even though it was a 'novelty unlock', the brick in Timesplitters 2. It was almost impossible to aim at a moving target and didn't exactly 'fire' very fast so more often than not you missed. And when it did hit an enemy it didn't do much damage.

Me and a friend once made a deathmatch with bots, bricks only first to 50. That was a LONG game and I can still hear that noise they made in my head.

Bricks, Hammers (not sledge) and, nail-guns in Dead Rising are pretty useless. I can see where the developers were coming from though since two of those would presumably be competent enough blunt-weapons against a zombie. A brick could kill a zombie if you bashed it hard enough, same with a hammer. Nail Guns in any context are just a shitty, shitty weapon. Bringing up nail-guns, it's kind of the opposite since nailguns can be effective weapons in fiction but in the real-world you can't fire a nail from a nail-gun. A real-world application of a nail-gun would work a lot more like an over-sized metal-knuckles with one lethal point that can spit a nail out.

Almost every weapon from Bioshock. Why? They do very little damage and when you get telekinesis you might as well say "fuck you guys" cause bodies do a good amount of damage as a projectile and they're EVERYWHERE! They only time guns are EVER useful is for the Big Daddy's,and even at that what weapons do you use? Something that is explosive and does massive damage...

Apart from the mighty Wrench! With the right combos of tonics, it does huge damage, and you can even stealth! Kind of silly how the first weapon you get, and the only one with no upgrade mods ends up being the best in the game :)

Telekinesis is definitely one of the most overpowered weapons in the game... but the LEAST powerful weapons in the game are definitely the Pistol and the Sonic Boom plasmid.

The pistol is almost useless. You get it early on in the game... but almost immediately after getting it, you get the machine gun, which is superior in almost every respect. Even with double upgrades, the pistol does piss-poor damage to basically everything, and you're better off wrenching a Big Daddy to death than using a pistol.

And as plasmids go, the Sonic Boom plasmid is awful as well. A plasmid who's sole function is to push the enemy away? What the hell use is THAT? The only way you could possibly use that is to push someone off a ledge, but Bioshock doesn't have any bottomless pits.
