using a pistol just once or twice means it's suddenly in need of repair again
That's a little exaggerated, but I get your point.

I refrain from using any unique weapons or armour because I can't repair them if they break.
Can't you get that repair perk that allows you to repair items that aren't exactly identical copies?

But yeah, you shouldn't have to level your repair high enough to get it just to be able to keep your weapon in good condition.

Volan said:
If they made the system at least a little more lenient, then sure. Otherwise, I'd rather have the issue of running out of ammo than never being able to use my best items, only scraps I picked off the nearest raider corpse.
I'm really having trouble empathising because I have always used repair as one of my main skills. But thinking about it - that's just because my style of play suited the game.

You're right, you shouldn't be penalised so severely and have to jump through so many hoops just because you didn't level a certain skill high enough.

The ability to play as different "races," like ghoul or super mutant.

A lot of people may whine but I'd like the option to marry some NPC's too.
Get out of my brain.. What they said.

Hmmm...definitely the fluid conversations with NPCs, the items and quotes which appeared in the loading screens as they made me eager to look for the one-of-a-kind weapons and pieces of armour in display (and all the quotes and recounts of Skyrim and Tamriel's history made the world feel a little deeper, and was just a lot more entertaining to read than "Hold B to turn your Pip-Boy light on and off" for the hundredth time). I'd also like to see vehicles implemented as horses were in Skyrim (hell, they could even make Fallout 4 a Mad Max style game set across vast expanses of high-way and open roads), and I adored the fact that your little mini-map thing had different symbols for the different kinds of places in your vicinity rather than just a generic marker.

I think it could be cool to implement some sort of race into character creation...maybe not necessarily human, ghoul, super-mutant and so on but somehting like picking between a character born and raised in the NCR who starts off the game with NCR gear, connections and skill in guns or a character whose parents were caravaneers who starts off with raised barter, speech and survivalist skills (you could seriously go to town with these, and maybe what you pick determines how your game starts off and aspects of how your game plays out).

Definitely wanna see the skill-trees from Skyrim, as it felt so much better getting new ways to use that which you specialised in (like being able to zoom in with bows and then subsequently being able to make the game go slow-motion when you did) than it does just affecting how much damage or speed or success you had with something (the perks are sort of like this, but they're a bit mis-matched and lended themselves more to a jack-of-all-trades than a honed specialist). Something akin to enchanting (you telling me that noone in Fallout ever though about sewing gadgetry into their armour) and the shout system (not in the sense of being the post-apocalyptic Dovahkiin, just more in the sense of a versatile gameplay element which you could use to further define your character and have a lot of fun with...maybe you've got a modified pip-boy which, depending on how you play, is capable of hacking a computer instantly once a day, or sending out an EMP which disables all robots in the vicinity for a short while).

Edit: Reading through some more posts it's awesome to see I'm not the first person to want a lot of these features...come on Bethesda!

Actually nothing, the Physics is obviously the same but, they need to keep science fiction and fantasy seperated at it's basic roots. however while fallout 3 and NV has that gore perk that makes people explode, Skyrim needs that... I want to make people explode with a mace damn it. if anything they need to improve Skyrim with fallout rules.

Plus a Deathclaw in skyrim would actually make me affraid to play the game. =P

The leveling system, so I can't use guns all the time and end up with 100 unarmed.

Plus, as has been said, lockpicking to be attempted despite the level.

Also, I'd love for some dragon tier enemies, huge mutated whatevers that make your arse pucker up when you see them and have skin/bones that can be used/sold.

Plus, consequences of actions. I remember killing someone's sister before doing a quest (the dragon claw one) and when I finished he said 'I just wish my sister was here to see this'
Whereas in Fallout, I could destroy megaton and the wandering merchant stood next to it wouldn't bat an eyelid or say a word about it to me.

Nothing. Nothing at all. Fallout and TES are two very different things, and they should stay that way. In reguards to Skyrim...we don't need anything from that game being used anywhere else, ever.

Dual-wielding would be pretty cool. Perhaps one perk for dual-wielding pistols/SMGs and another for larger weapons (which would require more Strength).

Dual wielding pistols would actually be pretty rad. Not to mention dual wielding SMGs!

Would add a bit more use to pistol-related perks as well since, bar a very small number of exceptions, they're generally less powerful than the many rifles you can get in the game.

Things from Skyrim:

- The fluid conversations.
- An alternative way to travel (plus the option to disable fast travel).
- The leveling system.
- The engine (or maybe even a better one, if possible).

In General:

- Fallout 3\Skyrim open world + New Vegas Npcs, Quests, Dialogs, ect...
- Better combat mechanics (both with guns and melee).
- More choices - the more the better!
- A real hardcore mod.

Combine all those features and you get the ultimate Fallout game.

Well for starter's weather, lighting, rain, fog, sandstorm, exc.also while not exactly from skyrim but more a same minded implementation of transportation but instead of horses i mean vehicles.I mean seriously the only vehicle seen working in the newer fallout's are vetrabirds in fallout Vegas i found tons of what you believed to be perfect conditioned motorcycles just lying there granted there might be a fuel issue but NO ONE has yet make some random contraption out of scrap and old car parts Really? also assassination animation's.

I don't understand the hate Fallout 3 is getting? Especially saying New Vegas had the better story. New Vegas' main plot stopped being important when you finally catch up with Benny, you had ZERO motive to actually continue with the NCR Vs Legion plot because both camps routinely acted like c**ts. At least in F3 you had an emotional resonance and drive with the story, (i.e. finding your father, avenging his death, continuing his legacy, etc).

Incidentally, I would have liked a karma system in place in Skyrim, one of my biggest pet peeves of that game was that I could go around doing the bidding of the 12 evil overlords of Hell and so long as a guard didn't see me doing it, it was consequence free. And I got a cool new hammer

At first I was thinking "Huh, Nothing". Then I realised what I would like to see.

Shields.

Bear with me for a moment before you point out how retarded that is. Fallout has Melee weapons. Lots of them. Which kinda get ignored by a lot of players (Why stab, smash or cut when you can blow something up?) but if you added in shields (Ranging from hunks of metal like drain covers onwards) that could resist certain ranged attacks (And be awesomely helpful in melee) you might be able to increase the amount of players that love melee.

Sure, it is a bit illogical, but I think it could work. Large lumps of metal put in the path of low caliber pistol rounds and the like would work. It would add a bit to the game.

That and duel wielding weaponry. Now, as many people love to point out, duel wielding pistols would be one of the most fucking retarded things a man could do and, in most cases, would lead to death. Yet I argue that firing a miniature nuclear warhead at a genetically modified mutant bear thing would be a fucking retarded option and, in most cases, lead to death. Since fallout runs on "Rule of Cool" we should have a few more "Rule of Cool" options.

So what would I like added to fallout 4?

Duel wielding of certain weaponry and shields.

Plus the aforementioned blacksmithing/enchanting analogues people were mentioning. Although perhaps limited so they cannot be combined so wankers who spend 4 hours breaking the game cannot go online and ***** about how easy the game is ONCE IT HAS BEEN BROKEN.

*reads up*

Some people have mentioned mounts and other forms of transport. You know what? Also good idea IMO. Although I would be tempted to say cars and bikes would do more harm then good. But riding around on a tamed giant ant, a weird mutant horse, shit like that, it would be fun. The reason I say no to cars and bikes is rather simple: If you can travel at anything close to 40 miles an hour, the gameworld will seem tiny. Plus we all know Bethesda has issues with game engines and sometimes things take a while to load. If you are moving fast, you will get the problem with buildings spawning around you much more often (Or not and world loading times will be fucking colossal. Seriously, even if a few mods that make Whiterun more interesting the loading times for that worldspace have increased 3 fold. And I have a pretty decent computer)

So, In summary:
Shields.
Duel wielding.
Mounts.
Blacksmithing/Enchanting "Fallout Versions"

That is all I think Fallout can take from Skyrim.

I want dragons in the next FO game. Big, scaley, fire-breathimg dragons.
So you want giant Fire Geckos, or fire breathing Deathclaws?

That said dragons in Fallout 4 would be funny. It would even make a certain amount of retarded sense. Radiation mutation is a get-out for anything

Duel Wielding (I want to roleplay a Gunslinger, dammit)

I'd also like to see Skyrim's weather system.
