Looks like its gonna be a good year for the PS3. Killzone 3 rumors are indicating that it will support 3D and PS3 motion control, and is expected to hit stores in the winter.

Its offical! SOCOM 4 is being developed by Zipper interactive. It will feature a campaign mode and 32 player online multiplayer

Rockstar has announced that it has a number of PS3 exclusives lined up this year. A espionage based game called "Agent" is the only game that has been acknowledge so far (by accident)

What other PS3 exclusives are you excited about? What are your thoughts on the games I've listed. will the be good or bad? chime in

EDIT: Kick Ass- the game based on the movie based on the comic will be released exclusively on PSN! hopefully it will be better than the stinky pile of shit that makes up movie based games.

Double Edit: Adding things as the thread expands (games that look good):
Gran Turismo 5

According to various websites, schedule for 2010 (as we all know) but still no definitive date.

ModNations Racers: thanks to Pimppeter for the heads up. User generated content driven Kart racer.

What's with this motion control crap? I enjoy the Wii, but I move on to the other systems when I'm tired of waving my arms around like an idiot.

Exactly. I'm not ready to change my LCD television for the sake of vomit-inducing 3D games.

Don't get me wrong: the technology is great. But it's far from being fit for long periods of gaming, for a lot of people.

Unless the technology improves, but since I won't change my TV for the sake of it...

Yeah....that's why I was hoping Sony would reveal that game on gametrailers.

For two days gametrailers was hyping up how Sony was about to unveil a new sequel to one of Sony's exclusive franchises.

-_-

What kind of tv do you need then? I was under the impression most decent quality high def tvs from the last year or two could use it, with the right refresh rate.

LOL! i wish! its not that simple my friend. 3D compatible TVs cost upwards of $5000.

You need a TV set that costs more than 3000$. And since that's what I paid for mine 4 years ago, I sure as hell won't change it for that reason.

Sorry, but motion control + FPS = EPIC FAIL.... no matter what platform tries it. If 360 tries to add Natal to the next Gears of War I will boycott that shit.

I'm still waiting for God of War III, once I've beaten it on the hardest available mode, I can die happy.

Haven't played KZ2 yet, will eventually, otherwise, I'm still working my way through the past games still. I've found that waiting and waiting for too many things to come out is a good way to be disappointed and miss out on the games we have now here. I try to play games fully and entirely, which is why I WILL eventually beat Bioshock and probably start BS2 someday in the future. I gotta say, not the biggest fan of Bioshock...

Franchises and video game companies make the most money off people who are waiting for the next big thing to come out. I try to avoid buying games this new unless I'm REALLY excited for them and love the franchise, which means that 9 times out of 10 I won't get a new game until it's on sale for cheap or I just rent it from work for free

Though PS3 does need to pull out some exclusives, there are big ones that Microsoft will have while Sony is just making their own controls of the other half of the games coming out

You've promted me to investigate further. I'm sad that the Samsung I bought on sale in Nov. is only 60hz so not compatible, however, I found the Samsung UN40C7000 40" is indeed 3D ready and goes for $1800-$2500 so not quite that expensive. However, that's still a ton of money. But the good news is that the quality of tv I just bought (1080p 40") used to cost that much, so likely in a few years the costs of 3D tvs will be acceptable and also I can only hope by then movies and games are more commonly 3D. I suppose the tech is just too new right now.

Yes.
Lots to look forward to: God of War 3, Mod Nation Racers, 3d dot game heroes, Agent (if that really is coming out this year, if it's going to be any good, if it even exists)
....
umm
Half of a new Yakuza game.
Year old gta dlc.
Never mind,
I just want them to finally start incorporating all the cool functions they said the ps3 would have into the actual games. I have 3 that can use custom soundtracks, one that does video capture, and that's it. What about extra BR content, psp connectivity, 1080p, and everything else.
We have good games, now we need the hardware to live up to the price and promise.

The motion control is likely not going to be that much different then what was in Killzone2, where you move the controller to set bombs and such. The controller isn't properly shaped to be an effective gun.

Besides even if they tried it you can bet there is an option to turn it off.

I'm ready for God of War 3, Socom 4 (I'm prepared to get burned again), Killzone 3 would be nice, I want insomniac to redeem itself with Resistance 3, inFamous 2 would be nice too, and I don't know what the agent is, so I don't know if I'm excited or not.

As for a new Twisted Metal...eh. I'm under the firm belief that Twisted Metal was a game that could only really work in the 90's, mostly due to the style. It's very much a grunge game. I'm also not too big on vehicles in general. So yeah.

The Last Guardian (Is that exclusive? Thought it was...). It's a good chance that at the end of this year I will consider it the greatest PS3 game ever... Screw next gen shooters. ^^

Well... apparently my tv is 200hz, got motionflow technology, so all set for 3D, not that I'd use it anyway, I'd hate having to wear 2 sets of glasses.
