i wasnt sure what section to put this under but i went with off topic because, while it does relate to gaming, its more about people.
okay, anyway. these days it is getting harder and harder to not play with other people. i prefer to play single player games because i care a lot about story but i also play mmos if they seem to have some story focus. when you play online with other people, what are some things you notice about other players or things other players do that bother you?
for me, its guys who play as female characters. now hold on, i know a lot of guys do this so allow me to explain, because i dont mean ALL guys. i understand playing as a female because the voice acting just works better with the female character (in mass effect, male shepard just seems a lot more wooden and awkward), or because female character models just look cooler in a certain game or fit your class better (in wow for example, female mages look more accurate than male mages. if you have been studying magic all your life, it doesnt really make sense that you would be build like the rock). that all seems reasonable to me. no, what bothers me is guys who play as girls specifically so they can ogle them or put them in skimpy outfits or whatever. im talking about people who think the fact that heavy armor in tera online is a g-string and pasties (slight exaggeration), is a major selling point for the game, or people who make a female character in a game just so they can stare at her ass while she runs. im singling out guys and im sorry for that but for the record, girls who do this bother me just as much. the only reason i have been specifically talking about guys is because i have seen more evidence of them doing this than i have from other women. i originally assumed that men only play as female characters because they thought, like me, that male character models looked goofy a lot of the time. but then i read forum posts of guys talking about how they create female characters for a sexual purpose and that just strikes me as creepy...and a little sad.
