Yep. Straight up stealing the idea of Chimpzy and reversing it. Mainly becuase I can't think of anything for that thread.

This thread though...

Used to love Star Wars. Now I want something more complex which isn't Star Wars' thing.

Baulder's Gate 1. Spent 5 mins waiting for some to hit during combat sucks. So does the general story. It feels like just the first act (and is in actual fact.) Hate might be an over stretch but when people keep referring to this time as 'well-written" I become infuriated

I remember, when I was much younger, wishing there were more zombie movies and games. That was before the deluge of zombies which killed any interest I have in them, to the point that hearing something has "Zombies" is almost immediately makes me lose interest anymore. There are exceptions but they are rare.

I'm much less excited about Star Wars now then was when the prequels were coming out. The fact Disney was(and probably still is) doing the "Star Wars films until the end of time" thing is a big factor. Ironically, Clone Wars and Rebels are probably the only reasons I'm not completely sick of it. I've gotten more enjoyment out of Rebels then any of the mainline movies recently, except Rogue One because I'm apparently one of the few wierdos who thought it was better then either Force Awakens or Last Jedi despite it's flaws.

Seems you will be spared my simian rage. For now.

Anyway, Real-Time Strategy used to be one of my fave genres. Command & Conquer, Starcraft, Total Annihilation. Tried replaying some a while back, and couldn't stand them, I got bored so quickly. Much prefer good Turn-Based Strategy now.

Also, Anime. More specific, fanservice-y trope-laden otaku-oriented anime, which seems to be the large majority of all anime being made. Got entirely weary of that stuff. I'm sure there are still exceptions, but I don't have the interest anymore to dig through piles of crap to find stuff I like. I'll stick to manga. Offers a much wider range of styles and subject matter anyway.

Horror movies. Maybe it's because I've seen so many and I can see all the scares coming a mile away. I sometimes still go see them, at the insistence of friends, but it's really rare that one still fazes me. I just sit there waiting for it to be over.

Gonna jump on the bandwagon of Star Wars. It was quite an important part of my younger days, but these days I'm just not that into it anymore. Sure, I'll go see the movies (the main ones, anyway), but the EU stuff I couldn't really care less about anymore. Maybe the switch to the more Jedi focus in the 2000's played a part, I was always more of the fighter jockey sort.
Same here, but I'm at least enjoying the new main movies more than the prequels. And hell, there'll always be the games for the more complex rendition of that universe.

For me it's cinnamon. Used to love it on toast, now I can barely stand the smell of it. I blame fireball shots.

Mass Effect. I fucking LOVE ME1. Go figure it only went down hill, also add just Bioware in general. (Though I now consider Beamdog the real inheritors of Bioware)

Imagine Dragons. Their first album is amazing, but they were an indie rock band that managed to get a lot of popularity among people who typically like pop music, and then they decided to go Maroon 5 on me. I still love that first album, but they are trash now.

Kevin Spacy. Bad enough when he did that 'Im a cat now' movie, but...ugh. I used to consider him one of my favorite actors.

Potato salad. Somehow completely lost the taste for it. Like, overnight. Another one is League of Legends. I was never very good and I never spent a penny on it.

I thought everyone hated Beamdog and that they disgraced the Bioware legacy. Definitely not me personally. But then ME:A just feels like a bigger Sci-Fi Baulder's Gate to me. I.e. Uninteresting characters, bland maps, basic story. But then, I'm playing ME:A at the moment and am thinking of giving it a 7. No where near as bad as people made out, but still not great

Coffee with Baileys Irish cream. My girlfriend and I used to have a weekend mornings ritual where we?d get up early to enjoy some coffee with Baileys and a cigarette on the patio while watching the local fauna. But one day, I don?t know what it was, but I made our coffee, added the Baileys, took one sip and almost puked; everything about it repulsed me suddenly. Oddly, my girlfriend felt the same, but to a lesser extent; she just didn?t like it anymore. We hadn?t had it for about 4 months (favoring instead Bloody Marys,) then this past weekend my girlfriend?s sister was in town, and she made a pot of coffee; I tried the Baileys again *hurk* nope.

Well, ok, I'll be that guy; The Simpsons.

It's all the proof I'd ever need for my belief that all good things must eventually end, or become increasingly depressing mockeries of their former selves.

Stereotypical mainstream manga. I'll still read it if it's well-done enough, but I won't be automatically interested like when I was in my teens. After reading over 4,000 manga books, I can easily tell when the official guidelines of Shonen Jump (or whatever magazine the manga's serialized in) dictates the plot of a series. Nowadays, I'm mostly into retro manga and josei manga.

Got something similar, but with wodka. Used to like it a lot, but all of a sudden, I couldn't stomach it anymore. Cheap stuff or quality, it doesn't matter. One sip and my stomach protests violently.

I'd say the same thing happened to me with all liqueurs, but no, I've always hated those.

On the other hands, I've found an appreciation for scotch, which I used to hate.

I'm noticing a pattern in this thread: most of the posts are about things that changed, not your opinion about the same old things. Do you now hate the way those things used to be? Or is it just the new version that disappointed you?

I used to play the heck out of this, but it wasn't accurate enough to progress much into the games, no matter how skilled I was.

Still, shooting Yoshi's head with a bazooka never got old...

I also used cheat codes a lot on games; now I avoid them as much as possible and feel dirty if I have to use them.

I can say my opinion about some of the older electronic music I used to listen to has changed. In ?96, I was an electronic music virgin, so I pretty much listened to everything I could find. Now, 20 years later, I?m frankly embarrassed by some of the old shit when I hear it again. I nearly wore a groove into Moby?s ?Everything is Wrong? album back in my youth because I played it so much; I popped it in again a few weeks ago and cringed. There are about 3-4 tracks that still sound amazing (?God Moving Over The Face Of The Waters? is as hauntingly beautiful as ever,) but a lot of it is campy, loud, C+C Music Factory-esque dance music and it?s just bad; lyrics like Everytime you touch me, it feels like I?m being booooorn? on top of a canned 4/4 base drum at about 150 bpm and way too loud? yeah.

Hah, no. People hate on Beamdog typically cause they are bigots who are upset that in the expansion Beamdog made for Baldur's Gate 1 that doesn't impact the original game at all they added a trans character. I don't think the character was well done, but I am not going to ignore that most of the people mad just hate inclusivity.

Im someone who likes most stuff I used to like. I really cant think of much that I liked as a kid that I don't still like. Maybe Barnie? But I don't think I ever really liked Barnie. Most of my growing up and liking new things was appreciating things I did not as a kid. Like I remember hating any show that wasn't a cartoon, but that's cause I hated that moment when Nickelodeon ended and I love Lucy reruns came on. Bleh.

Candy.

I used to love that sweet, sugary shit.

Now it feels like my tongue is getting peeped on by nuclear waste fairies whenever I stick anything candy related in my mouth.

I can't say anything for manga, as I'm not a regular reader of them, but I have to second the fan-service laden anime (movies and tv shows as well). I used to enjoy them when I was younger (and before I got my own computer) but now I just find them tedious and frankly patronizing rather than titillating. Plus I don't see any point in the softcore/pseudo-nudity of fanservice when I have access to full-on porn (live action and hentai).

I never loved it but at least I used to enjoy the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Somewhere around the time of the first Guardians of the Galaxy I was really burned out, though. Now I just want it to end. Three of those movies a year. My god. It's just about the most tiresome franchise currently around.

Pok?mon. I convinced myself I liked it when I was a kid because all of my friends were into it but in retrospect, I never really enjoyed the games. Turn based combat is something I put up with when the writing is really strong. And in Pok?mon it never was. Plus, Digimon had the better shows. I stand by that.

MisterMetokur, formerly InternetAristocrat. Back when I was like 20 I was... well, I was a fucking dumbass who unironically thought of people as "Social Justice Warriors". I thought Metokur was a guy who made fun of the right people but... yeah, the guy's a tool, plain and simple. To think that there was a time where I supported GamerGate. God, I was a retard. Only realized just how far gone that movement was when most of its figureheads resurfaced as Trump cheerleaders.
