I don't see the games talked about very often.
I first discovered the sequel as a demo on another PS2 Midway game (can't remember which one though)
It's a combination First Person/Third Person shooter with horror themes, though the game takes a much more action orientated approach, which kind of downplays any horror aspect. Which is fine. I honestly don't think every game that takes on horror themes HAS to be scary. Sometimes it's just a cool setting for an action game.
I remember the game fondly, particularly because it did have the liberal choice of allowing you to play the entire game in first or third person, something I wouldn't personally experience again until Oblivion.
To be honest, the shooting felt like it left a lot to be desired, but the sequel, Ties that Bind, did improve on that quite a bit I think.
I've been recently replaying the games since they've been sold on GOG (god bless this digital game retailer...), though it wasn't without a slight headache getting the game to work on a modern PC, requiring a user made patch, and even then it's not perfect. It has the stink of a console port, with the game glitching out if you run the game at above 60 FPS, and it stutters if you use anything other than the game's own Vsync, causing a lot of input lag.
I feel like it's one of those games that I liked growing up that's been forgotten, but maybe some of you feel like that's for the better. I'm just wondering how many of you played it before and what you thought of it then and now.
