Throw Down in Super SF4 in Vegas, Baby!
If you're going to be in Las Vegas for CES '10, and you kick ass at Street Fighter IV, why not try to get in to the exclusive underground fight club Capcom is setting up to promote Super Street Fighter IV?
Hey, in case you hadn't heard, there's a new has been delayed [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/95069-Super-Street-Fighter-IV-Brings-Eight-New-Challengers].
Delay aside, Capcom Consumer Electronics Show '10 [http://www.capcom-unity.com/s-kill/blog/2009/12/29/super_street_fighter_iv_las_vegas_fight_club!]. It will be the first chance for outsiders to get their hands on returning fighters Guy, Cody, and Adon as well as newcomer Juri, and Super Street Fighter II contenders T. Hawk and Dee Jay.
Here's the kicker, though - Capcom's Planet Hollywood suite has limited room, so if you want to get in on this, it's invite only. To get in, take a chance and drop Capcom a note [http://www.capcom-unity.com/capcomcontest] arguing your case "why [they] should pick you," and if chosen you'll get a pass for you and a guest of your choice - 18 and older, naturally. If you do get in, though, there will be a tournament that awards bonus points for not just winning, but for fighting with the new people - so put down your overpowered Sagat and pick up Adon!
Capcom's Team Unity will be facing off against a ragtag bunch of underdogs put together by Microsoft's Major Nelson [http://majornelson.com/], and while 80s films like The Karate Kid have taught me that the underdog will always win after a heartwarming training montage, something tells me that fighting the Capcom folks on their own turf at their own game is an uphill battle.
Good luck, would-be fighters! Oh, and if you see Keane Ng there, make sure you kick his ass - he's not so tough without his Sagat.
