Throwback Entertainment Appoints New Chief Operating Officer
Throwback Entertainment announced today the appointment of Mr. George Nakayama as their Chief Operating Officer.
Thomas Maduri, CEO of Throwback Entertainment, said, "We will benefit immensley from his experience, proven record of success, and passion for gaming."
Mr. Nakayama had served previously as President of Capcom USA for 12 years, and has over 30 years of experience in the gaming industry. He oversaw distribution of home console titles and assisted in getting North Americans interested in videogames again - he was instrumental in bringing about a "golden age" of arcades through the distribution of Street Fighter 2. Mr. Nakayama grew Capcom's business from $0 in sales in its first year to $280 million in his final year with the company.
"When I was presented with the opportunity to join the Throwback team, I jumped at the chance to work with some great individuals that truly operate as a team," said Nakayama. "When I look at the quality and incredible lineup of innovative properties that Throwback is poised to deliver over the next few years, it invoked a great deal of excitement."
