This idea came from that Doctor Who spoof "The Curse of Fatal Death."

That's the idea. The first person posts something they've done to the second person, and the second person describes how they've managed to get out of that situation using time travel.
Example:
Person 1: I've thrown you into a pit of snakes!
Person 2: I time-traveled back to the dawn of evolution and edited the snake's genetic makeup so now snakes look more like fluffy bunnies!
Then person 2 can leave it as is for person 3 to change further, or say a new thing thing that they've done to person 3.
Possible example (choice 1):
Person 3: Well I went back just after you left and edited snakes again to make them deadly bunnies like in Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Possible example (choice 2):
Person 2: (response to person 1)
To next person- I've destroyed your home planet.
Person 3: (response)
So, to the person below me: I've kidnapped your family!
