So, how well do you know your Tolkien lore? Do you have the ken of the genealogy of the blood of Numenor? What about the line of the High Kings of the Noldor?

Test your mettle against this here dumb little quiz, in hopes it may give you reprieve and succour from this most dire age.

I got 17/24. A mediocre result gotten mostly by random guessing. Yay!

Who is supposed to buy me that pint?:geek:
The lady avows herself of much wisdom in the mythos of the venerable wordsmith Tolkien, who went to Bournemouth and dwelt there on the shores of the sea. Let her be basked in the adoration of all who behold this finest of majesties, for it is a great deed, and one most deserving of brewed libations.

Maybe the big pharma people who name drugs are Tolkien fans... no wait, that would imply that they weren't completely soulless, inhuman monsters.

Or they're both?

I mean, orcs are a thing...

I mean "people" in big pharma wouldn't read Tolkien, as the act of reading it doesn't actively destroy people's lives.
Maybe they do it ironically in a "Look Charles! I'm reading like one of the help!" way?

I think it's cheating a bit to mix brand names and generics. It also has some errors:

Desyrel - is a brand name (for trazodone). The blurb misleadingly implies it's the generic name.
Eskalith is a brand name for lithium. This is pushing it as an antidepressant, it's a "mood stabiliser" for bipolar disorder. It is occasionally used in particularly severe depression, but more in the way that when things get desperate, any shit gets thrown at the walls in the hope it sticks.
Amantadine is (primarily) a Parkinson's Disease medication, not an antidepressant.
Sildenafil is an erectile dysfunction medication, not an antidepressant.

Of course, in the case of the latter two, if you get the right (wrong?) doctor they might try all sorts of stuff.

There you go again! Attaching human actions to inhuman beings. Being ironic with one another doesn't spread misery, thus they don't do it.
