1.) Jak 3

2.) Final Fantasy XII

3.) The Sims 2

4.) Tetris

5.) Uncharted 2

My taste is unconventional as all hell, but I say screw it.

(It should also probably be additionally emphasized that these are the top 5 games that I 'favor' the most, not the ones I consider to be the best/most influential/most impressive/etc. If that was the main question in point, I'd probably have to introduce a heavily tweaked version of this list, if not a completely different one entirely.

Obviously.)

1. Warcraft 3
2. Halo 2
3. World of Warcraft
4. Call of Duty 4
5. Mass Effect 1

If we were going by how much pure enjoyment I have gotten out of a game, World of Warcraft would be #1 by a mile, but that's mostly due to my friends, not the game itself. An MMO is only as good as the people you play it with.

I cannot do a list of my favorite games, it would be too long, but looking over the lists here, there are many I love that have not been mentioned, or at least are underrepresented. Here are some:

Act Raiser (SNES)

Suikoden II (PS1)

Goldeneye 007 (N64)

Super Metroid (SNES)

Alone in the Dark (PC, PS1) The 90s version, not the recent one.

Subject is still going I see

I always felt borderlands was somehow lacking because the multiplayer was seldom functional but that wouldn't explain how I got through the game twice. I pretty much went through it all as siren.

Well I'll go with my personal best game experiences, as I don't think they're necessarily the best games ever, just the ones that struck me as extremely enjoyable (at the time at least).

1. Doom
2. Myth 1 and 2 (plus WWII mod)
3. GTA SA
4. DOA series (the fighting ones, not the volleyball ones)
5. Thumb wrestling

I still dream of one day becoming a professional thumb wrestler.

I refuse to rank these 1.-5. as imo they are all equally good in their own way:

Dungeon Keeper 2
Deus Ex
Planescape Torment
VtM: B
Fallout 2

I haven't played a game in recent years that came close. I DO like new games but they usually don't appeal as much anymore, not enough to replay them anyway. Except for Fallout: NV, that one would be a candidate if it had a better engine.

I refuse to do multiplayer due to the modded guns. And I did finish it as Roland, only to start over as Lilith and Mordecai on two seperate copy's of the game.

In descending order

Deus Ex
Deus Ex Human Revolution
Half Life 2
Perfect Dark
Metal Gear Solid 3
Mario Kart 64
Timesplitters Future Perfect
Timesplitters 2
Team Fortress 2
F-zero GX

So... I like conspiracies. A lot. I don't believe in them, but games with them are fun to play.
Honorable mention to MGS4.

1) Chrono Trigger - I've beaten this game dozens of time and it has never gotten old.

2) Shadow of the Colossus - The atmosphere, the game mechanics, and of course, the most gripping and intense battle sequences imaginable.

3) Final Fantasy VI - Square at it's absolute peak, great system, great music, memorable characters, and just a great game overall.

4) inFamous 2 - This is my favorite execution of the good/evil morality system, you were given choices that mattered, and both endings were fantastic.

5) Mass Effect 2 - The best of this series, Commander Shepard reporting to kick ass, take names, and make memes. They brought back the good characters and added in a bunch more awesome ones[footnote]I know some people rag on Jacob for not being interesting, but I found his loyalty quest to be pretty neat in a disturbing kind of way[/footnote]

6)Batman: Arkham City - This game lets you be the goddamn Batman. 'Nuff said.

7) Mass Effect 3 - With the exception of the last 5 minutes, this was very well executed. You felt the urgency of the conflict, the race against time. The little moments you would run across with the crew interacting were also hilarious and awesome. While the gameplay was further streamlined and improved, I found some of the new characters also detracted from the experience. I would have much rather kept more of my ME2 team.

8) Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 4 - fixes a few flaws in persona 3 and takes us into a cool and interesting mystery. Add in a boatload of cool characters, and the "gotta-catch-em-all" type of fun in the persona fusion aspect, and it makes for a great game.

9) Super Mario RPG - This game was also one of Square's best ever efforts. It's just plain FUN! Unlike their other RPGs, Super Mario RPG isn't at all afraid to make fun of itself or break the fourth wall. The game mechanics are fun, the combat is fun, the music is amazingly awesometastic, and the villains are often hilarious (heh, the Axem Rangers... classic).

10) Half-Life 2: This game remains a very solid and unique shooter, with memorable levels (we don't go to Ravenholm) solid gameplay, and a decent story as far as shooters go.

Wow people actually felt they had to mod guns in that game
I saw one or two people with all the skill points available before it crashed but wow
