Ok ill play along

1.Makoto Nanaya (Blazblue series) - love this character so much dont know why as im pretty rubbish with her but her in game banter always makes me smile.

2.Blanka (Street Fighter series, well some of them) - feels like I have been playing as him forever still my main when hes available.

3.Ayane (Dead or Alive/Ninja Gaiden) well what can I say I just like her character design plus they actually fleshed her out a little bit more than the rest of the cast (excluding Ryu Hayabusa ofc)

4.Faust (Guilty Gear) crazy dude with a bag on his head armed with a giant scalpel whats not to love.

5.Tira (soul calibur) had a hard decision here as I almost always play Siegfried due to my play style plus I do like his design but Tira just edged him out im just to much of a sucker for slightly crazy people in my fighting games they usually amuse me more.

Edit: I deliberately didnt include Dissidia characters because although they are fighting game characters I still feel that primarily they are RPG characters. Otherwise it would be Tifa at the top and the rest just move down a space.

Alright I'll try. Note that most are gonna be UMVC3 examples cuz it's the only fighting game i've ever really gotten into. So crossovers ahoy!

1. Phoenix Wright (UMVC3) somehow Capcom managed to keep him completely in-character while giving him an arguably God Tier moveset. Some sort of epic feat of game design IMO

2. Amaterasu (UMVC3 and Vanilla) Mash forward-H to win... God she's awesome

3. Rocket Raccon.(UMVC3) His voice is amazing, he has a minigun hyper and his theme tune is the second best in the game.

4. Doctor Doom (UMVC3 and Vanilla) Don't use him myself but his FOOT DIVE! Is to be feared. Also Finger Lasers.

5. Mileena (MK9) Hey when most of the roster consists of ninjas, lady ninjas and some macho men. Might as well go for the crazy ninja lady with the big teeth and maniacal laughter.

(not so) Honourable mention: Wesker (UMVC3) anyone who plays Wesker seriously has no respect for the concept of fair play. Fucking constant Lvl 1 X-Factor can fuck right off.

1. Patchouli Knowledge (Touhou). Royal Sun Flare, nothing else to say really...
2. Yoshimitsu (Tekken). There is so much win in him that I find it hard to describe.
3. Sakuya Izayoi (Touhou). KNIVES, KNIFES EVERYWHERE!
4. Jin Kazama (Tekken). I just really like him, the definition of badass.

I really like Amaterasu as well, but I don't think being able to win by mashing a certain button makes her awesome. It makes the players that do that cheap and often lazy.

3. Yoshimitsu Hes Mysterious and a Bad arse.

4. Havik, Another Mortal Kombat character, hes the Cleric of Chaos and would rather fight with the good guys because if the Big bad guy wins there would be more fighting! He just loves Chaos!

5. Rodger, hes a Boxing Kangaroo, SERIOUSLY.

Special Mentions go to Noob Saibot, Sub Zero, Raiden, Ermac, Strkyer, Kayuza, Devil Jin, Kuma, Alisa, Captain Falcon (PAWNCH), Link, Roy and Mewtwo.

 

[Safe in the Dark]

1. Kain from final fantasy Dissidia, because fuck yeah Kain.
2. Ryu or Ken because.
3. Ragna/Sol, same character really.
4. CAPTUN FALCUN.
5. Tifa from Final Fantasy dissidia, because I play a lot of FF, and she has jiggle physics in a game that does not call for them.

Honorable mentions: Any female character that's been objectified enough to convince me to buy a beach volleyball game. The entire cast of Rumble roses, and Tits. Mai Shiranui stands out in particular.
