And yet, it hates you. And me. And everything that has ever dared touch a gaming controller.GasparNolasco said:I love this game so much...
You'd be surprised, some of the fist weapons are much, much, much better than you'd expect. High stability for some reasonLostCrusader said:Think my favorite part of that trailer is that it flashes to a new scene after the player gets hit every time. Also no visible life bars to show that your pretty much dieing after every hit.
Assassin did look pretty sweet there but don't see short range claws doing much other than adding frustration.
Why would you want stability on your weapon? If you are going to block, you want a shield.Unholykrumpet said:You'd be surprised, some of the fist weapons are much, much, much better than you'd expect. Let's see, there's no Hydra that shoots fire, only water, so either it's not a hydra, or you're mistaking fire for water.....Either way, both hydras in the game are optional (Hydras only reside in water BTW, just in case you're mistaking something for a hydra)Doclector said:And yet, it hates you. This trailer makes the game look terrifying.
It is. Seriously, sometimes it goes into horror territory, just because of how good the art design is, and how very, very vulnerable you feel. Even as a huge knight with plate armour, a big sheild, and a massive sword that you wield like you were born with it, you feel at every point like you are a few seconds and one bad move away from certain death.
At the moment, I have a dilemma. Unless I am going the wrong way entirely (wouldn't be the first time, I spent an age attempting to slay those damn skeletons), I have a choice between that massive hydra at the end of the trailer who fires blasts of death that make it difficult to impossible to get close to it, and some smaller, electricity firing dragons, who seem to take as much damage from my sword as they do from a stiff breeze.
Either way, I'm screwed. I'm always screwed.
I guess he said that the hydra "fires" blasts of water, he didn't say it breathes fire.danpascooch said:Let's see, there's no Hydra that shoots fire, only water, so either it's not a hydra, or you're mistaking fire for water.....Either way, both hydras in the game are optional (Hydras only reside in water BTW, just in case you're mistaking something for a hydra)
Now, about the drakes, if I assume correctly you must be in Drake Valley, and I'll assume you got there through the Darkroot area, try traversing the cliffs to the left after going down the lift, you'll find a cave entrance to Blight-town there, or if you have the master key, a much easier option is to enter the OTHER side of drake valley from the New Londo Ruins and from that side you can enter Blight-town without fighting any drakes (the door in New Londo to Drake Valley is near the elevator, up some stairs, if you run into ghosts, you've gone too far)
GOOD LUCK!!!
I just beat the game yesterday and am enthusiastically tackling New Game+ One last tip, if you're a melee character, invest in a couple attunement slots and get some pyromancy, even with my pitiful 9 in intelligence, my pyromancies just shred straight through almost all bosses.
LOL, that should be the tagline for the game!Doclector said:Either way, I'm screwed. I'm always screwed.
See, i've been trying to get attunements for a while, and I can neither find or seem to buy any. I have one slot, so I could equip it...How do they work anyway?danpascooch said:Let's see, there's no Hydra that shoots fire, only water, so either it's not a hydra, or you're mistaking fire for water.....Either way, both hydras in the game are optional (Hydras only reside in water BTW, just in case you're mistaking something for a hydra)

I said neither. It fires death blasts, that's all I figured out.GasparNolasco said:I guess he said that the hydra "fires" blasts of water, he didn't say it breathes fire.
Funny, you don't need that much intellect to scale your pyromancy with anyway. You upgrade your pyromancy flame for that :3danpascooch said:I just beat the game yesterday and am enthusiastically tackling New Game+ One last tip, if you're a melee character, invest in a couple attunement slots and get some pyromancy, even with my pitiful 9 in intelligence, my pyromancies just shred straight through almost all bosses.
Yep, you're lost the same way i was. You need to go to blight town. I actually didnt mind it that much but you MUST go stock up on some purple moss if you dont already have a bunch from the woods. Or was it the depths first? If you dont have a master key to open the shortcut to blight town from new londo ruins then you'll need to go through the depths. You get there by using the basement key you picked up and opening the gatehouse thats stands before the bridge with the big red dragon that fries you after the undead burg boss.Doclector said:And yet, it hates you. Essentially every two points put in the "attunement" stat when you level up, gets you one attunement slot (spell slot)Doclector said:See, i've been trying to get attunements for a while, and I can neither find or seem to buy any. THanks for telling me the way forward. Although, the things I've heard about blighttown...yep. I'm still screwed.

Yeah, it definitely becomes easier once you know the tricks, although I still can't kill that fucking red dragon on the bridge without using a glitch I stumbled upon my first playthroughRuwrak said:Funny, you don't need that much intellect to scale your pyromancy with anyway. Beat the game once already, doing the achievement runs now. The games becomes.. less challenging once you figure out how to tackle things. The hydra for example, has a very, very easy trick to it. But Imma not spoil that
Happy hunting
You got this. I know for a fact you can beat all 4 in under an hour. I did it today in fact.Mahorfeus said:I have to get all four Lord Souls before Friday, or else I'll never get it done. I'm so screwed...
