I got this preordered after the sheer awesome insanity that was saints row 2 how could I not.

Am I the only one who'd prefer a game in which we're going up against the Saints? They're so powerful now, and it seems they've partnered with Ultor and have reality show members on their ranks, they're clearly the enemy.

"Partnered" with Ultor seems a bit much, I'd rather think they took Ultor over after the events of SR2. Also, I love the little head shake the FBI agent gives when the player starts blazing bullets at the beginning of the shootout, like "ugh, whatever, you got this".

Shaundi looks kind of cool, and I'm glad to see they're bringing back important characters from the second game. I still want to know what happened to the old gang leader from the first game (I love Keith David).

They tend to change the way the "player" looks in the cinematic footage; for SR2, they had a model of a tough black guy, and now it's more an athletic white guy. I don't know what it was for the first game, but I can see why they don't keep it to one specific thing.

Anyway, props to Volition, I am definitely buying this game. Maybe pre-ordering it, depending.

Julius? Uh, there's a special mission unlocked by going through the police department and listening to a number of phone recordings. One of said recordings tells you where to find him, and you go and catch up to talk about the good old days.

you kill him in said mission as the recordings reveal that he was the one that orchestrated the bombing that takes out your character at the end of the first game and puts him in a coma, as well as helping the police arrest Gat. He got the impression that you and Gat were a wee bit too psychopathic (I have no clue how he got that idea...) and that the Saints were making the city worse than the original gangs had been.

Anyway, really looking forward to this game. I'm interested in seeing how playing as the top dog will work out. It's rare that that happens in a game, or really any media, so it'll be intriguing to see how it all pans out.

Have I ever mentioned how much I want this game? Well, I want this game a lot. A whole lot. It's going to be awesome. If I can only get one game this fall, I'm canceling my Gears 3 preorder from last year (when it was coming out in April) and getting Saints Row The Third. Also, I'm totally ready guy in the video. Bring on all the wacky goodness.

I don't pre-order anymore (not since New Vegas) but I will most likely be picking this up the week it comes out...as long as it's not completely broken.

When I saw the original trailer for the first time , I haven't played Saints Row 2 yet.

but now that I'm currently playing it and about to finish it (I avoided the spoiler materials in the other posts) , it's great that I recognized most of the characters who appears in it , even though they look different from the previous game , especially Shaundi.

also , my character in SR2 is a Hispanic dude , I like to call him Hector "El Santo" Vengativo. ^^ (Yes , his last name means "Vengeful" in Spanish , and it doesn't sound that good , but his MY character , so whatever)

I hope that there's an option where you can import your character form the previous game to the new one , cuz that would be sweet !
