Sounds like it's time again for... the Guess the Name for the Next Call of Duty Game Game!

I'll start:

Call of Duty: World of Warcraft
Call of Duty: Om Nam Nam Nam
Call of Duty: All Your Cash Are Belong to Us
Call of Duty: Revolutionary War
Call of Duty: War of 1812
Call of Duty: Civil War
Call of Duty: Ancient Warfare
Call of Duty: Parallel Incursion/Evacuation Contingent Exercises (CoDPIECE)
Call of Duty: Dedicated Servers
The Call of Duty Saga: New Moon
Call of Duty: Kill More Civilians
Call of Doody: Restroom Break
Call of Daddy: Little Sisters United
Call of Duty: World at War 2
Call of Duty: Legends
Call of Duty: Byzantine Warfare
lol @ little sister united.

Well, I certainly wouldnt mind seeing a couple of those titles about...

But, in all seriousness wouldnt mind something new, Cold War, Korea, Vietnam. Just something other than WWII

Well, I wouldn't mind the Falklands being immortalised in a video game. The Americans might get a bit huffy about not being involved in it though.

How about The northern Ireland troubles?

It would come completely out of left field.
.
Being a member of the Flying Columns would be cool, lots of stealth.

Sneaking through Cork, slitting the throats of the bastard Black and Tans... yeah it would definately be awesome

The troubles are still a little too close to home for a lot of people here though and it might cause offense.
Technically as it is a COD game you would play as a British soldier. This is because the series gets you to play as the winning side, not the ones planting bombs then running away.
Oh but of course your idea would be good for a sequel where the player is a Taliban planting bombs then running away to their holes!
You are obviously not familiar with British/Irish history. You are also clearly an idiot.

The Irish troubles could not be more different to the Taliban/US war.

A game where you, as a British ex-criminal get sent to crush the tiny rebellion of a nation you have abused and oppressed for hundreds of years? Sounds fun.

Next time a country gives the dregs of its society marshall law to burn down your cities, then maybe you'll have a better idea how the British/Irish war was fought in the beginning of this century.

One area I think is inevitable for CoD is the future. But I think Treyarch might as well do their duty of trying out outdo their big brother IW, yet not be too obvious about it. Just like they did with World At War, tried desperately to be edgy like COD4 yet didn't want to be set in modern times.

I'm considering games like MGS3, set in the 1960's yet the game had a lot of fun with cutting edge 60's tech as it did not tie itself down to an actual conflict and was highly hypothetical.

How about instead of WWII, instead of the Cold War, how about World War 3?! I mean the kinds of plans that various military forces dreamt up for "atomic soldiers" in hypothetical wars, where nuclear missiles are lobbed around like conventional artillery shells are lobbed around today.

As long as I get to play Richard Sharpe or Patrick Harper...

On a second note, the perfect Vietnam Game as already been made.... Battlefield: Vietnam...

You could also play it in real time as the real war was over and won within the space of a weekend(Exaggeration).

I'm really looking foward to Treyarch's next game.

They might not have the same skill with multi-player as IW, but I had tonnes more fun with the single and co-oprative modes in WAW then I did with COD4.

Plus, they might not abandon their entire PC fanbase like Infinity Ward has shown it is so determined to do.

I think it's time for Activision to put a bullet in the back of Treyarch's head.

A Cold War game based around spying and espoinage would be very intresting. Imagine, because no one really won or lost as there wan't any actual conflict, you'd get the views from both sides, and the occasional 'large war of the period' mission. Think about, espoinage as a Russian spy, a Sothern Korean soldier in the Korean War, a 20 year old junky in 'Nam, this has the potensial to be either be the most incredible, or the most horrible game ever.

if this is carefully portrayed then this idea would be amazing (vietnam i mean). But i believe heavy emphasis needs to placed on the reality of the war. A war game veteran like trechyard has enough power to make a very good game, but its still not going to stand up unless they create more things that simply "another shooter". Nazi Zombies in WAW was a good example of innovative ideas. More are going to have to be made if trechyard has a shot at this. I believe they should really remove the whole "glorified hero of war" kind of idea. Ultimate defeat in the single player campaign may just make or break this game if it ever comes to be

CoD7: Cuban Missile Crisis.

We all sit around a table and debate whether to fire on Russia.

Bonus mission: You get to fly the plane over Cuba and take pictures of their missiles.
Oh wow. I have to quote Linkara here.
