Trying to get creative with Dragon Age:Origins builds

I've been replaying Dragon Age Origins alongside Baldur's Gate 2 and the more I play it, the more it becomes dreadfully apparent how much DAO lacks in depth compared to its spiritual predecessor.

One particular aspect being the variety of classes - one of the best parts of BG2 was being able to multiclass, mixing and matching certain classes together; my current BG2 run is being done with my ranger/cleric multiclass.

In DAO, however, the closest I've gotten to 'multiclassing' is messing around with the arcane warrior specialisation to make a makeshift cleric, of sorts.

I was wondering if anyone here has managed to make some creative class builds in Dragon Age:Origins.

My Arcane Warrior/Spirit Healer/Battlemage filled every single role except Rogue. I can tank, I can dps, I can heal. If I bring another mage with me, I can level whole battlefields at once and even do before the battle begins, by surprise.

Really, the rest of my group was there simply to be, or for the story.

I also once had a Berseker/Reaver/Spirit Warrior that used Greatswords and nailed ~250 per normal strike at the speed of an unaided dagger.

(I've never really played a Rogue so I haven't experimented with them)

I've been playing lots and lots of Origins lately, so I've been making new characters left and right for experimentation.

I haven't played Baldur's Gate, but I have played Dragon Age. You can play a mage as a shape shifter, blood mage, spirit healer, or armor them and and use them as an arcane warrior. You can play a warrior as a duelist, two-hander, or sword and shield. You can play a rogue and have them swap between long range bows and dual daggers. That seems like a lot of different combinations to play with to me...

Granted it's not as deep as something like Final Fantasy Tactics' job/class system, but I think it offers enough depth.

Playing as a Shapeshifter is a bad idea. The damage you deal in the various shapes is supposed to scale off your magic stat, as that's what a mage would have. But it's bugged(like a great many other things) and scales off strength, instead. So unless you're playing a mage backwards, I really wouldn't suggest being a Shapeshifter.
