T'was the best thing that I have heard. The rhymes and the melody were prefect as were the voices. Happy holidays Escapist, you have brought joy to me this last year.

That was pretty good. I laughed, though somewhat bitterly when it came to Michael Atkinson.
Still, very enjoyable.

Merry Christmas to all the writers and readers of The Escapist, and all the best for the new year.

Excellent rewriting of the old poem, guys, although there's just one problem...

Atkinson is from Australia, so why is he saying happy winter? It should be happy summer!

Good job. I wonder what yahtzee would've done with it, considering his Wolfenstein review. :D

The Red Spy said:
Quite astounding, loved it. Merry Christmas Escapist.

Edit- Am I okay in asking for some tips & critique on this?

Wrote about two weeks or so back, never done anything like this in the past but enjoyed the planning and writing, but wasn't happy with the final product (it's seven verses shy of the actual 'Twas the night before Christmas' for a start). Anyway, I don't think I'm able to look at it from anything other than a novice's point of view, so I'm admitting I could do with some pointers if any of you would be so kind (It's a pathetic start but it's still a start right?).

Cheers all and merry Christmas.

Twas the night before Christmas, when all through 2FORT
Not a player was stirring, not even the Scout.
The charges were set by the demoman with care,
with hopes Sasha & Heavy would soon be there.

The Engineers were turtling in the intelligence room,
while a pyro past by, whooping to their impending doom,
and there stood the Spy with Ambassador and knife,
sure in the knowledge, blue Scout's mum to be his wife.

When out on the bridge there arose such a sound,
a Scout rose to the call, two steps in-a bound.
Only to find Demoman had got his kicks;
Sasha and Heavy were in bits.

The Scout went to the Blue base solo,
deciding to to take the sewer he jumped to below,
bad choice it seemed, as he saw the Soldier appear,
had he bonked his last? Lost all held dear?

There a white coat, and glasses so thick,
the Scout then knew, it had to be the Medic!
"Nein! Dummkopfs!" he exclaimed,
above the popping of the needle gun, its efficiency acclaimed.

The Scout ran on, bat raised high,
a Heavy, a Pyro, a spy in disguise,
he got the intelligence, brought it back with haste,
our announcer cried "ONE MORE, FIRST PLACE!

[abrupt ending]

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good fight.
Call it 'Twas the night before OVERTIME
