Two questions: One for guys and one for girls

First off, for the guys: Why is it so difficult for you guys to accept that a woman can be just as strong as they are?*

My question for the girls is this: Why cling to that whole "don't hit girls" thing? If a woman can punch a guy in the face, shouldn't the man be able to defend himself or fight back without everybody acting like he's the devil?

*Not saying that all are, but I know from experience that they can be.

As a guy I accept that, I know at least two girls who could kick the crap out of me. It is a stereotype that women are the weaker sex physically and is generally true. However I believe in assessing people by individual merits so I don't usually apply that stereotype when talking about specific women unless it is true.

But a woman can't be as physically strong as a man (EDIT: I should clarify, I am talking potential here - hormones and bone structure). Mentally, yes, physically, no. There is nothing to accept. An individual woman can be stronger than a certain individual man, but this is not the norm so why pretend. Strength isn't only physical though.

No one should be hitting anyone, really.

Ah but women have the advantage of targeting a very tender, very hittable weak spot that a man has. I mean really, one kick and as long as you're not fighting a eunuch, that dude is going down.

Girls use that "don't hit me" thing to get away with hitting or insulting you. And then they talk about being equal.

I know some pretty strong girls so I don't think that girls have less potential, more like that most of the girls don't even hit the middle. They let just want to look good.

Yeah Colours is right, The steotype is that Man are usually stronger (physically) than women, but not all guys and girls fit under the stereotype, people should be judged on who they are and not by the general standard.
And yeah no one should be punching anyone in the face

honestly? i play hit for hit no matter who it is. somebody tried to hit me or a friend i hit back just as hard, and usually aim for the same spot too. all of my friends know that, so before they hit me they expect me to hit them back just as hard.

All women are sronger than men, have you ever seen one give birth dear god not in a million fucking years could you pay me enough be like trying to pass a fecking watermellon through a pinhole.

Also who said physical strength was the only measure? Women tend to have much higher pain thresholds and looking at the next generation of men most of them will have trouble lifting 5kg bunch of long haired, whiney emo pussys with that chin fluff they call a beard.

As a man, I will answer the question you have presented to my gender.

Women ARE physically weaker as a rule. It's biology. I'm not saying they can't kick my ass though. Nothing's stopping the average girl from buying some weights and taking Karate classes instead of shoes and hairstyling. Or even both!

Although most girl fighters prefer finesse and dexterity in combat, as it turns their weakness* into a strength.

*From a general combat standpoint.

As people have said above, while an individual girl can most certainly be as strong if not stronger phsyically than a guy, in general guys are going to be phsyically stronger than girls.

And you shouldn't hit girls - that just ain't cool.

To the girls question I've never actually clung to that. I think it's rather stupid, if I'm going to get into a fight with someone I expect them to fight back. I don't care if they're a guy or a girl!

Relax my friend, we have the same advantage, or do you think the vagina isn't sensitive?

Why not if she would be hitting me? A chick kicked me in the nuts once, obviously I '**** punted' her back. Served her right, she and her stupid chav friends bullied me long enough.

Actually, similar ends are reached with a blow to the genital area of females, the male target is just easier to hit, since it is out front.
Well that's true, plus knowing the average male as well as I do, since I am one, when we fight, we like to go with the fists first, and if we swing away, all the female has to do is duck, then uppercut into the pounderclogs while we're overextended, and it's made easier by the fact that usually the legs are open when we go for a punch, as we're coming forward to get that extra wait into it. It's going to be a lot tougher for a guy to get that shot, since from what I can tell, women are better fighters with their legs then with their arms, and it's tough to get that low shot in when you've got feet coming at your head. It's like trying to take one of those herniated organs out on the bosses in Resident Evil, but instead of a gun, you have to use your hands. It's very hard to do and it's not a viable tactic in a fight.

Well from a physical standpoint women in general are not built with the same muscle mass and bone structure as men thereby in comparison between the two, women are in fact weaker. That said, it does not mean that women can never meet the potential of men or even surpass it. It's just means that women may or may not need (again depending on the physiology) more strength training to reach the rest strength of a man. It's not an impossible feat, and I know a lot of girls who can kick all kinds of butt, it just that it requires more an effort from the female physiology stand point.

So yeah it's a stereotype but it's a stereotype with some truth to it.

My girlfriend is way stronger than me, it's kind of embarressing but I'm to much of a typical nerd to really care about it.

The generalizations- THEY BURN!
Haha! Then my tactic is working! Never works in real life though. Would save me some ice packs. And of course I'm generalizing! I'm assuming this is average guy against average girl, not Fedor Emilianenko against Cyborg Santos.
