I am working on a project where (1. idea) I want to get FPS movement as FPS-ish as possible. No shooting involved, just some "selecting". And I myself have just never played any FPWhatever with any not-ancient controller, thus I'm having some troubles coming up with a good concept for the mapping of buttons.
So, left stick becomes the mouse, then? Looking around? Makes sense...
Is the movement usually analogue as well? Running speeds and "strafing" in other angles than 90°/45°/0°?
(just realized, this might be better placed in Advice or Offtopic)
Right stick becomes the mouse, unless the user chooses "lefty" configuration.
Also, these will be of help:
