You know, ordinarily I would be all for this. I'd argue for Tyra's chance to take a shot at something new, to try out a different field and maybe find a new level of success. After all, back in the early 90s, who would've put money down on Will "Fresh Prince" Smith and "Marky" Mark Wahlberg being bankable box-office titans? I would've said that, while becoming "the next J.R.R. Tolkein" was a massive stretch, there was no saying that she couldn't put out something of quality.

But reading that synposis made the part of my brain that would've presented that argument slam itself against the inside of my skull until it could no longer feel the pain. It's terrible, pure and simple- self-congratulatory tripe with Mary Sue-ism up the extremely underfed wazoo. It could turn out to be a literary axe-blow to the head of the writing world compared to the Twilight series' comparatively loving baseball-bat skull massage.

What I'll do is this. I'll put Tyra's new book on one end of a table, and Yahtzee's new book on the other. Then I will leave the room for five minutes. When I come back, I expect Modelland (pronounced "Model Land") to be in shreds, and Mogworld (pronounced "vastly superior") to be exuding an unspeakable dark aura of malice.

AH, KILL IT! Kill it with fire!!!

Back on topic: look, if Twilight can sell well, this will too. Yes, it is a very, very, very sad event. But maybe this can be advantageous as well; anybody who buys this will be added to a de-population list, how's that?

Consulting with a group of smart people about this they have all broken down into speaking 1337. It appears the mention of this is dangerous to the untrained mind. As a precaution for whne the book comes out and teenage girls discus it in the street we should all read a metric ton of both http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_S._Burroughs and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/H._P._Lovecraft . Only then may our minds be able to block out the horror. Cthulhu help us all if this shit is for real.

Well, hey, maybe she's going for a 'so bad it's good' aesthetic, and it might just be-
Basically, Tyra Banks wants to write the next Lord of the Rings. More specifically, the next Harry Potter.
... scratch that.

Her qualifications:Looks hot, reality Talkshow Host, Starred in a bunch of shitty movies, looks hot, had a bunch of cameos, is a fashion manager, and looks hot.
Nothing about literature, nothing about scripwriting, nothing remotely related to writing. But she is also a photographer, and if she makes a good enough cover with enough skin showing, then I bet every horny high school boy will probably preorder it. They'll probably be thinking it's some sort of porno mag, if it's not already suggested by the title. They'll be dissapointed I bet.
Oh Wait! She did write one book, but it was basically a 200 page woman's beauty magazine.

I... I don't... I don't even know what to say. If I tried to put the level of snark I'm feeling towards this news then the world may very well implode on itself.

In the Immortal words of Graham and Paul [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/unskippable]: "I have nothing to add to this."

I lied. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/FanFic/MyImmortal] For anyone curious as to what will come about.

If it's a good book, fair enough, but it's still an industry which will slowly destroy it's staff's personality for the sake of market, making it one of the most devestating industries in my mind.

So she wants to be like Tolkien... lol XD you mean she wants to be just as insane as him and be able to create her own language? There is one thing that's similar between these two. They are both crazy, except Tolkien's craziness had smarts. Banks lost hers a looong time ago.
