Shooting actual guns: Does not affect people.

This statement brought to you by NRA: Shooting Range.

Let me list of things that are genuinely wrong with the world.

-Oppression
-Corporate greed
-The existence of money
-Politics
-Exploitation
-Discrimination
-Stigma towards those treated for mental illness
-Judgement
-Lenient justice

Now for a couple of things that aren't wrong.
-The existence of firearms
-Freedom of speech
-Artistic expression

The problem isn't video games or guns, it's how the world works.
But we might be too lazy to fix that, so let's just blame everything else to sleep better at night.
*claps* pretty much all the people who put guys like this in office so of course they are not going to bite the hand that feeds them.

Ugh.

I literally want to scream.

What he says: "I hate games"
What he means: "I hate what is topical so as to deflect people from looking at mah guns!"

A game never killed someone.
Any time a person COMPLAINS about the 1st amendment limiting what they can do its scary. They are probably going to do something like the Hays Code for games if they can.

Please let my own Country NOT DO THAT. God I may claim Canadian leaders are nuts but NOT that nuts.

"We must avoid do anything practical!"
I wonder if the Founding Fathers weep when they see what their nation has become.

Guns don't affect people. Bullets affect people.

More seriously, fucking of course video games affect people. We'd have a pretty damned weak argument on the "games are art" front if they didn't. Fuckwit.

Same here. But then I remember that our politicians are stupid in much more evil ways.

So, if I were to perform an outrageous act of violence upon this man, I should use a video game rather than a gun?

(Disclaimer: I have no intention of hurting anyone. I am a huggly person. <3)

Well, somebody go tell those twenty kids from Sandy Hook that they can stop being dead- after all, it's video games that affect people, not guns.

Oh hey, look, there was a shooting in Phoenix today [http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/30/justice/arizona-shooting/?hpt=hp_t2] with one dead and two injured, and the main suspect is a white man in his mid-60's. MUST BE THEM VIDJA GAEYMS

But then again, this is a group that keeps rumbling about "Second Amendment solutions". Life is sacred- so long as it votes the same way they do.

He's right though, those edges of the discs, they can kill a man!
Not to mention the lethal side effects of the plastic wrapper.
Don't forget about putting disc in the microwave for 2-6 minutes that can cause a nice explosion.

The sheer audacity that an elected official claiming to be a constitutional literalist would say "unfortunately the first amendment limits what we can do". The words not are here. Why is happening?

I had prepared a large paragraph about a literal interpretation of the 2nd amendment that would require you to participate in active service or be on standby in a military or law enforcement group on the national, state, or local level to ensure personal gun ownership rights, but I'd like to stick to the important issues here. There's just no way that you can say that entertainment is somehow dangerous to society.

Being born before reasoning does not allow you to simply ignore its existence.

How do people with so low an order of intelligence get elected to office? And as a Senator, supposedly the house of "elder statesmen"? I no longer wonder why the economy is a wreck, why they can't come up with a reasonable plan for crime prevention and a bunch of other stuff, it's because of morons like this.

Well guns totally don't effect people. Hot lead ripping through their body effects people. And video games totally do effect people. THye uhhh... make us mad... when we lose at something... and like make want to... well make some people... well make some people with varying degrees of already significant mental trauma want to... you do stuff... IT"S TOTALLY THE SAME.

Video games are bigger problem because they affect people?

EVERYTHING AFFECTS PEOPLE!

Guns affect people too. They kill them.

We have another case of an old man stuck in his ways, talking about things he knows nothing about.
