Out of all people (consumers included), I think this guy has the hardest boner for next gen.
I'm just 'meh'.
I'll buy PS4 when time is right.

And they actually did that but it ended up being really crappy: overhead, cartoony, something you would expect to play for free on your phone. I think you can download a demo for it.SonOfVoorhees said:Forgot about the crash junctions, had lots of fun with loads. Maybe they could make that as a digital download game they could make for a sell for cheap on xboxlive/psn? Best thing i loved about it was my baby brother could play it and do really well.GonzoGamer said:It depends on what they're going to do with the power.
I was looking forward to the current gen when it started. One of the things I was looking forward to most was Burnout crash junctions with more cars and bigger explosions. Then Burnout Paradise came out and it didn't even have crash junctions.
I'm inclined to agree with that actually. The paint is starting to chip off on this generation of games and I want it to feel fresh again. He basically said that games go in a cycle, beginning at a new console generation. The beginning of the generation brings us the same old tired ideas in a shiny coat of paint.
Personally I think Ubisoft want the new generation mainly for this reason.

I read that people judge others based on how "cold" and how "warm" you are. People want to appear cold so they'll be respected and appear intelligent. As such, we associate people who are warm and nice with people who are stupidDrunkOnEstus said:I've been following this shit since the SNES release, and I have to say that this is the most apathetic I have ever seen a group of gamers about a new generation. It's especially strange, considering that this one has gone on too long. That extra power won't just boost graphics guys, we're at a point of diminishing returns there. The power will give us larger levels, more complicated AI, more NPCs/objects on screen at once, farther draw distance, more sophisticated battle/fighting systems, etc.
Though if I were a gambling man, I'd say the apathy is really the result of gamers being pushed to the breaking point by publisher nonsense. We have more "advocates" like Jim Sterling than ever before, and we've seen more shady business practices (and awareness of those practices) than ever before. I think people are more scared of what new tools we're meant to bend over for than apathetic about the increase in power and new games.
I believe it was Ralph Wiggim who said "fun toys are fun" and who can argue with that?CardinalPiggles said:Ignorance is bliss?PoolCleaningRobot said:I'm inclined to agree with that actually. I love ignorance.
You've got a valid point there, and I'm sure it applies to at least some of the detractors. Also, this site more than others suffers from "Yahtzee Mindset" (due to his presence here). Basically, if you assume upcoming things will be shit, then you'll be pleasantly surprised if in fact it isn't. Inversely, assuming that the new thing is good can only serve to disappoint you if in fact it is shit. Add equal parts desire to appear "edgy" and funny as a result of that edginess, bake at 350, and watch absolutely nothing happen because nobody here really knows each other and nothing was accomplished (accidental edginess from myself, there).PoolCleaningRobot said:I read that people judge others based on how "cold" and how "warm" you are. This apathy is just a result of people thinking they'll appear smarter and competent if they act jaded and cynical and anyone who's happy must be an idiot. That's my theory anyway
