Ubisoft Shows Off Lots of New South Park: The Fractured But Whole Info at E3

//cdn.themis-media.com/media/global/images/library/deriv/1329/1329245.jpgUbisoft brought Matt Stone and Trey Parker onstage at E3 to share lots of info about South Park: The Fractured But Whole, including a new trailer.

There's a new South Park game in the works, and at E3 today, Matt Stone and Trey Parker took to the Ubisoft press conference stage to talk about we can expect. In South Park: The Fractured But Whole, you're back in the shoes of the new kid, and despite your victory in The Stick of Truth, the kids are back to seeing you as the douchebag again.

They've left the fantasy world behind, and instead, the kids are playing superheroes. Despite having a great plan to build a billion-dollar superhero franchise, the kids can't agree on how to proceed, and now they've split into two teams, and are fighting a civil war. There's also a new trailer.

Ubisoft also announced that anyone who pre-orders The Fractured but Whole will receive a free copy of The Stick of Truth as well. South Park: The Fractured But Whole release on December 6, 2016 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

Did they say if it will require UPlay on pc?
They didn't say anything in relation to UPlay.

They only said that if you preorder on pc you get the Steam version of Stick of Truth for free.

Hmmmm, on the Steam page right now it says:

Requires 3rd-Party Account: Uplay (Supports Linking to Steam Account)
I really hope that's a mistake or gets removed in the future.

I really enjoyed the first game but I really don't want UPlay.

It's a game published by Ubisoft, of course it requires Uplay. Given that, I really don't get what the whole issue with Uplay is. Yes it's DRM, but so is Steam. Once upon a long time ago Uplay was an abhorrent mess that crashed constantly, those times have been gone for over five years. If you don't like having two forms of DRM, just buy it from the Uplay store and bypass Steam entirely. Or buy it from Steam, and Uplay pops up briefly before the game launches.

In no way does Uplay signal the end of the world, and if you don't like a game published by Ubisoft using Uplay, then don't buy it. It's amazing how that works; don't like something? Don't buy it! It's not like Ubisoft has some sort of nefarious money-mancer that makes the dead currency in your possession rise up and walk into their coffers.

I'll just get it on console given the Uplay issue. I mean come on, look at that trailer, the game's brilliant. This is a Deadpool situation where even if the product isn't good I'm buying it just to reward the brilliant marketing team. Nearly two decades, a movie and now two proper (emphasis on proper) games, and they've still got it.

kind of weird since the first game didnt require uplay. all it needed was steam and thats it. even for a retail version. well, the game looks like fun again so i sure as hell will get it. like to have a smile on my face like i had before. even my wife has noticed i always had a smile on my face.

which reminds me, i hope there wont be any content removed and you have to bypass it as they did for teh EU and aussie version.

Wait, how does Cartman know that Kenny is Mysterion?
Didn't he find about it in the first episode Mysterion was in? They remove his mask and Cartman yells: "Ha! I knew it was you!" The audience didn't know who Mysterion was, though. That was revealed later.

Other than that, that ending... UNDERBRAW!

Things are getting strange in South Park again.

Wait a minuet... it's always strange in South Park.

I wonder how they are going to top the events of The Stick of Truth?

So PC Principal is going to be in the game? I hope you can kill or severally injure that jerk?

Never liked that guy even when he did redeem himself a little.

I'm not so bother with Uplay per say (I did had to install it when I bought the Child of Light Special Edition).

I actually looking forward to this and ha, so many comicbook movie reference.

God I hope it doesn't require uplay. I was so happy when I got the humble monthly with stick of truth and it didn't require it. Uplay has so royally fucked up my system a couple of times and made several games unplayable.

That said, if this game is half as good as the last one we're in for a good time. I really enjoyed stick of truth. Well, most of it. Let's just say a couple of the... dirtier aspects of the game actually made me ill. Those parts were totally made up for by the sheer awesomeness of everything else. Dodging Sir Douchebag's dad's balls in the middle of a boss fight is probably going to my favorite QTE ever.

Ugh. I wish they started making these games before season 12. I don't think there was one joke in that entire clip, just references to the stupid trend going on with current super hero movies and their past material.
