...As opposed to what? It's not like any particular army can claim the moral high ground over others. Any military force has doubtless done all sorts of horrible acts.

I think this is really shows how out of touch the older generations are with the recent times. It's just a game, it's not like they are forcing you to JOIN the Taliban just to buy the game; haha, that'd be silly. I hate censorship, though, so fuck him, seriously.

Last time I checked America was not part of the UK.
What does that have to do with anything?

Just for showing a battle on a different perspective other than the american and/or british is unacceptable?

Are they even thinking what the armed forces of the USA have done to the Taliban forces themselves? They have done even more damage to them than to us!

Now, I don't support the Taliban's (nor any government or war really), but just because they are showing warfare on a different perspective for the first time, and then these people want to ban it make me really rage.

And I don't want to flame anyone or to be a troll BTW, I thought it may seems so. If you think so, I am sorry about that.
For me playing as a Taliban is less shocking than playing like a CIA Operative Gunning Civilians in an Airport.

Pfffffffft. Surprised he can still walk, with his knee jerking so hard an' all.

I have precisely zero interest in this game but, still... what a pillock. Do your research first.

Kratos says: "Jesus nonexistent Christ"
My sentiments exactly, only in my case, the phrase would be "Jesus, Mary and Joseph, what the fuck is this shit"

Seriously Fox. IT'S...A...FUCKING...GAME!

The Taliban is responsible for the worst civilian attack in my country and you don't see me getting bent out of shape by this. Sure I hate the bastards, but I don't see a reason to call for an all out ban simply because EA is showing both sides of the conflict.

There should be more gamers in parliament.
At least that way we will have people talking about games that actually know a thing or two about games.
They could tell people like Fox that it is just a matter of team color; Red vs. Blue, USA vs. Russia, USA vs. Vietcong, cheerleaders vs. nerds, Gods vs. Titans, Nathan Drake vs. every ethnic group alive, Raynor vs. Kerrigan vs. Zeratul, etc... I can keep on going xD
(And no, that list doesn;t make sense and discusses more than only FPS games but I was on a roll)

It's funny, because as soon as you give an organization the name 'Taliban' instead of 'Opfor' whom you know are supposed to parallel them, it's like "OH FUCK BAN THE FUCK OUTTA THAT FUCK. FUCK." Because it's so 'Un-British' to play as your enemies.

Don't you play as the Taliban, or something similar in multiplayer matches in COD4 and MW2?

Why weren't those games called to be banned? Well 2 was, but that was because of the airport thing.
Nah in MW2 its the opfor or something, the thing is its actually here its not just terrorists its a real group, and you cant blame them when people are still dying because of that group.
OpFor= Opposition Force. Could have been anybody.

Does he realize all they're doing is name dropping Taliban in multiplayer? You could just as easily be Aliens with AKs.

Sure, it may be a bit tasteless, but still.

I remember playing as the Nazis in a battlefield game way back, and that had a full campaign. I really don't get these silly outrages at all...

Asking retailers to ban a game because of the Taliban being playable in Multiplayer is overreacting. Plus, I doubt any retailers will ban the game from their store because of all the money they will make on it.

according to fox then shouldn't all war games be banned? notably world war 2 games, Nazi's are responsible for the decimation of Jew's and the Americans for many civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki via the atom bombs

Ok seriously, no one even mentioned what context you play the taliban in. I MEAN seriously this argument is as legitimate as saying "We should not let boys play cops and robbers (Or cowboys n' indians) because it puts the robber or Indian in a positive role."

(Ok that got a little racist but it was to portray the idea)

that is essentially saying what the argument breaks down into.

He doesn't realise that playing as the Taliban will lead to so much satire and so much meme material that 'Taliban' will be at the butt of dozens of jokes online.

Britain does have something resembling the First Amendment, right?
Didn't the article already say it's illegal to ban this game?

Does that answer your question?
