UK Gets Shamrock Simpsons Before US

For the first time, the UK gets a Simpsons episode before the the US, mainly because old Abe is over in the land of the little people.

In the special St. Patrick's day (March 17th) episode, In the Name of the Grandfather, Abe Simpson will be travelling to Ireland to visit the Blarney Stone [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blarney_Stone] amongst other Irish cultural landmarks. Naturally, like most tourists, he ends up in the pub.

Usually episodes are shown on Fox in America a week in front of them getting to Sky 1, but for this occasion, the UK gets first look; with America getting it one week later.

On the Emerald Isle [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ireland_(island)] itself will be Al Jean, James L Brooks, and Nancy Cartwright who will attend an exclusive screening.

Let's just hope there's no Thetans [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/89041-Bart-Simpson-Shills-For-Scientology] involved.

I've known about this for a week. Sky One have been advertising it for quite a while.
Why is the escapist slow on some news stories and quick on others?

Answer: Better late than never.

But, we don't want it.

The Simpsons is so bad nowadays it has even gone past the "So bad its good" stage

Yeah its on like the 19th Season now isnt it?
Its lost all appeal to me what with South Park, Family Guy and American Dad still releasing some good episodes. They are probably gonna release Simpsons seasons until it is completely bled dry.

Shame because apart from the new specials, Futurama has been neglected, even though IMO it is a much better show.

At least we get to be tormented by it here in the UK before it gets shown to the rest of the world, god bless us.
