"Since Emily Moore was 14 you have waged compelling threats and violent abuse towards her ... Bullies are by their nature cowards, in school and society. The evil, odious effects of being bullied stay with you for life ... On this day you did an act of gratuitous nastiness to satisfy your own twisted nature."
Win.

This girl deserved it.

I hate to be judgemental about thing, really, but I doubt anyone's very sorry about her getting "nicked".

This is good news. I've been a victim of cyberbullying myself multiple times, and while I haven't recieved any death threats, I can sympathize with the victim in this case. It's always good to hear when bullies get what they deserve.

If I'm interpreting correctly, then I can say this: I doubt the cells are co-ed, for that very reason, so she probably won't be "nicked".

All this is based off one, more probably wrong, assumption. I'd hate you make an ASS of U and ME, but I had to say what I've said.

Just as much as this "cyber-bully" is to blame, there is also personal responsability to consider. We all dealt with bullys in school; either you clocked them in the head and knocked them down a peg and then dealt with the teacher, or you ignored them and the situation resolved itself when they got bored. This isn't any different, except it's a lot easier and more harmless to ignore them.

There's my two cents.
That's not worth two cents. The giant hole in your argument is that Ms. Winning Personality knew where her target lived and had a past history of violence against the target. Just de-Friending isn't enough; her nerd-raeg could indeed be expressed in person. (As it was, which is what precipitated the final charges.)

Frankly, I think the Web would be a better and more useful place if people would keep in mind that other people are on too, and it's not just a playground for the Id.

Although bullying is a terrible thing, I think it's pretty clear that the girl wasn't actually sent to jail for being a bully. She was sent to jail because she threatened to kill somebody and had a history of physically assaulting them.

Well, she deserves her punishment.

However, I'm not sure about that photo...She looks a bit like Lund from Doomsday Arcade...Or is it me?
I was thinking the same thing

Ahaha. Oh the internet. It'd be nice if they brought it to the States. Perhaps a lot of kids would stop talking outta their asses like they're so e-tough over the internet.

This too. Although I'll repeat, she's in the young offenders institue, not a real jail; which she should be in - damn her age, she's mentally adult enough to know what she was doing.

We need more judge's like this!

But then again, if we did.....we wouldn't have enough jail's for everyone.

She deserved it though! >_>

My next Facebook chat with a friend

"Hahah your an Iiiot"
"Shut up asshole"
"I will fucken ki... nevermind"

Anyway, She got what she deserves. She's an idiot, she had 2 prior convictions for the same thing. What made her think she could get away with publicly confronting the girl.

Speaking for myself we do not know all the details of the case, superficially it sounds fair, but on the other hand I think the Judge was very unprofessional despite being articulate with what he said.

Simply put, it's not the incident standing along, but apparently an ongoing history between the two girls, and really if things have been going on *THAT* long there are doubtlessly two sides to the story. To me it doesn't sound like a case of bullying but an ungoing rivalry given that this has been going on since what? 2005 at least.
