Myself I'm just glad they did manage to get Miguel O'Hara in it. Now, since most people who will play this game won't have the slightest idea who he is or what's his backstory I wonder how thin will they lay it on for the game. Here's the breakdown as I see it:
Amazing Spiderman : Obvious.
Noir Spiderman : Need to cash on the Arkham Asylum trend.
Spiderman 2099: Just one fan favorite. Minimal design work needed, it can all be done thru samey futuristic corridors a la Metroid.
Ultimate Symbiote Spiderman: Quick, we need another alternative that looks distinct enough and yet it doesn't involve building too much from scratch.

I always enjoyed the story where Spider-Man warps into the six-armed tarantula-thing. We don't often see Spider-Man acting like the Fly. The symbiote story has been done to death and has become a cliche of itself.
I'm not surprised the designers chose this direction; it seems like a Spider-Man product has to flaunt the connection to Venom.

I actually like the ultimate spidey universe. I think it would've been cool if they made the ultimate universe play like WOS. You know with the suit changes, besides, ultimate spidey didn't have the black suit for long.
I was also a little underwhelmed by it only being Ultimate Spiderman. Personally, I was hoping for a galactus powered Zombie Spiderman from the Marvel Zombies series.

Back when I was speculating about the fourth spidey I figured ultimate was an option but then I thought (its the same as vanilla spidey but younger, how could they possiby make that stand out?) Apparently they decided we can't get enough simbiotes in our spider-man games, so away we go...

I really liked Ultimate Spiderman, I liked the art style and everything about it, I just wish it was something else. How many times do we have to see a symbiote costume?
Zombies would've been awesome, but I suppose it wouldn't happen because of the maturity level of Marvel Zombies.
