Along with his new powers, the challenge for the young web-slinger in the new series is balancing his relationships with his friends and family and his super colleagues who can help him gain an understanding of his parent's legacy and his destiny.

"Ultimate Spider-Man will be a unique journey exploring our favorite web-slinger as he teams up with other fan favorite Marvel Super Heroes in never before seen stories with a new life filled with great challenges, new friends, intense action and character growth," said Eric S. Rollman, President of Marvel Animation."



Is it going to be animated or life action?

Will it star any number of Zac Effron-like actors?

Will it suck?

I'm still recovering from a Spider-man Musical someone told me about that Disney were doing...

Now this?

Let's hope they don't tone it down or make it far too "kid-friendly" or just try too hard. Why can't they just stick to how they did it in the comics...=[

I'll be tempted to look into this, hope they release a trailer or something to give people a taste of what to expect and let us see if we should avoid it or not...

Well, i's Ultimate so I think it's safe from One More Day. That doesn't mean that it won't suck, it'll just be a different flavour of suck to the 616verse Spiderman. I suspect it'll be animated, given that the dude up there's the head of Marvel Animation and spiderman live action really doesn't work, especially with the Disney way of filming (Build a set the size of a large house hold, have wacky stuff occur within the household, occosionally go to school), though that's not to say that the voice acting won't be terrible. Spiderman was always known for his battle banter, which, if left in the hands of Disney Writers, will suck.

In conclusion: I suspect, based on my knowledge of Disney and Spiderman, that it will suck righteously. The acting will be satisfactory, though the writing will be appalling even though most of the writing is right there in the damn comics.

Rant part 2: Was Ultimate really the best choice? Ultimate is Marvel cranked up to 11, it's the verse where they can take things to extremes without fears of what it'll do to the main continuity, eg make Scarlet Witch and Quick Silver full fledged incestile lovers. How the hell does that shit belong on Disney?
