Uncharted 4 Leads the D.I.C.E. Awards With 10 Nominations

Uncharted 4 has ten chances to win.

Every year, members of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences select some of the best video games of the year for award consideration in the D.I.C.E. Awards. This year, 56 games received nominations across 24 categories, with Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End leading the pack with 10 nominations, including one for the top honor of Game of the Year. It will be competing against Inside (9 nominations), Battlefield 1 (8 nominations), Overwatch (6 nominations), and Pokemon Go (2 nominations). In addition, Bethesda's Todd Howard will be inducted into the organization's Hall of Fame.

"On behalf of the Academy's Board of Directors and its 33,000+ membership, I'd like to congratulate all the nominees," said Mike Fischer, President, Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences. "For the past twenty years, the Academy has made the core of its mission to honor and celebrate the highest achievements in game making. We look forward to celebrating our 20th anniversary milestone, and look forward to celebrating the many more years to come!"

The winners will be honored during a ceremony on February 23.

I'm a bit surprised it didn't get a nod for music. I remember the music being pretty good.

Anyway, GotY I'm not sure about. I doubt Battlefield will win it. Pokemon Go seems like a Dark Horse contender, but I don't really see it winning either. So I guess it comes down to INSIDE, Overwatch, and Uncharted. I almost want to say they will give it to Overwatch purely on the insane hype surrounding that game. That being said, I think INSIDE could be a good choice, and Uncharted 4 is certainly a great ending to the franchise (it'll probably win Adventure Game of the Year).
