Snake in the MGS briefing videos on the PS1. A lot more appealing then his in game pixelated self.
I don't know if they were meant to make Nathan Drake hot, but I spent a good 10 minutes in Uncharted getting his shirt wet in water and watching it cling to him... yum.

Anyway, I would have to say Tali from Mass Effect.

Even though you weren't intended to have intimate relations with her (seeing as she isn't avalible as a 'romance partner') myself and many other people found her more likable and pleasent to be around than most of the other NPC's (of course I'm applying this to the female characters only, Garrus and Wrex are undeniably great).

Agreed. Although Garrus and Wrex were great, it was in a "you'll never meet anyone this awesome" kind of way. Tali was somehow way more relateable, and ended up tied as my favorite character (along with Nihlus) because of it.
