Brandon sat up against the wall and sighed. This was going to end badly for everybody. His mind flashed to the girl he had left earlier. He hoped she had gotten out okay.
After a few minutes Erik comes back down and walks up to Riley, "Well my boss was pretty pissed off but I was able to get the rest of the day off, so do have any questions or should he just head out and cause some mayhem?"
Lieutenant Harrison winced as the base commander slammed his fists on the desk.
"All those losses, and one of our field commanders in the ER, and you only killed three?"
Harrison gulped.
"We managed to take over a large infected encampme-"
"Letting most of them GET AWAY in the process!"
"We just didn't expect so man-"
"You underestimated our foes! You let good men die!"
"But-"
"No buts! You get KP duty, FOR THREE WEEKS!"
Harrison nearly pissed himself.
"Now, get out of my sight."
He was gone in an eyeblink.
The base commander sat back in his chair, sighing.
Things have all gone to hell. Troops are being moved in from all over, we're even getting reports of a naval blockade being set up. The press are going to have a field day with this.
I can't do the political stuff, someone else will have too.
Donald Tiller approched the podium, he had been briefed on the New York Debacal and was ready to give his speech.
He spoke into the microphone
"My fellow Americans, I was as I'am sure were, shocked by the devestation that has racked the city of New York. Innocent people and brave soldiers perished has we drove a spike through the heart of the Infected Cell that plauged New York. However, it still wasen't enough, these low life criminals sliped trough our noose andd are at large. These criminals must be destroyed to stop the senseless violence that has gripped our nation. I call upon you the people of America to join hands in support of our valient men in GIC as they march on New York to wipe out this danger once and for all.
While some have raised concernes over the troop surge into New York, as well as the possiblity of a naval blockade, I inplore you all to realize the danger these freaks pose and what harm they could do to you. While the posibility of martial law in New York is very real, conside the alternative. An armegeddon of assults on our home and our family by these inhuman monsters. If it wern't for our actions, these creatures would wander around unchecked, free to terrorize us and kill us.
He must make a stand and fight. We must unite and show our resolve. We must eradicate the menece once and for all!!
Thank you and god bless America"
Tiller walked away, a smug grin breaking over his face
Riley looked at Red, "I came here because I was attacked by seven GIC soldiers in the middle of the night. I don't know who they are, why they attacked me, or what they're doing." He paused, "But I do know this, I want them gone. So my question, Red, is this, what can I do, to help you guys finish the GIC off?"
"Well then I'm glad to meet you," smiled Karen more confidently, "did you hear about that "terrorist attack earlier?" she asked concerned about other infected.
Kyle had left the bar after the news got to frantic. He wasn't the bars bouncer, just an extra hand to help when things got to rough, and he feared he would kill the anti-mutant biggots that swarmed inside the G.I. bar.
It was while he was stumbling through the city that he saw a mutant incase off duty soldiers in concrete, he also saw him chase after a man who's face he recognized from the news.
"Red" he mouth silently as he stalked them threw the city and to the door of a building.
Kyle knocked on the door after some minutes of contemplation.
"Gotcha." Emily left the office and promptly made her was back downstairs. There she lined up the injured infected and examined them all. Most were hurt, but only some needed immediate medical attention.
"You", she said to another infected,"get whatever medical supplies you can scrounge in this god forsaken place and bring it back here."
"Evacuation!?!" he said "James, the military is just about ready to set up a blockade, They have grounded all flights in and out of New York, and they have roadblock checkpoints at every exit of the city, how the hell can we evacuate with all that?"
"There are old tunnels we can take out of the ci-"
"They are gaurding the tunnels out of the city also, they mayor gave GIC the maps to all the matience tunnels going out of the city"
"Well, what can we do Warren? We're not fighters, most of the Brood in New York are injured. We have GIC sniffing around for us, how long can this warehouse remain secure? Face it Warren we have our backs to the wall and GIC won't stop till we're dead."
Erik gave Riley a big smile, "Well, you have three options. One, continue to strike it out on your own and try to take out as many GIC as you can. Two, join Brood and help your fellow Infected survive the war but only fight when needed. Or Three, join The Hive and help us take the GIC out one terrorist attack at a time.". Erik looked to his side and saw somebody at the door, yet the doorman seemed to refuse him entry, "Wait here a second and contemplate your options." Erik tells Riley before running up to the door and opening the door for the man, "Sorry, the doorman has been a little cautious after the clinic raid, as long as your Infected your welcome here, if not......well I guess your not going to be leaving anytime soon."
"You're the Hive aren't you? I saw the news report," Kyle looks around before entering the building, " I'm Kyle Guderian, but you can call me 'Krieg. I was at a Military bar watching the fight at the stronghold. I want to help you kill these G.I.C. Bastards."
Erik looked back and forth at the two, "Dear me oh my, two recruits at once. Brood may have to a hit from the clinic raid but it did loads of help for us." He jokes before pointing towards the staircase, " first to levels are business levels, you'll need to head there first so that we can have you put on record, above those and all the way to the top are the living quarters, I use that term loosely as anything you need can be found there. I know you guys must ready to go out and kill the first person you see with a GIC name tag on, but after the raid earlier, we still don't know if they're going to declare martial law on New York City or not and we've been ordered by Infernal Anarchist himself to cease all activity within the area until we do. We can easily take the forces they have in New York at the moment, but if this becomes a war zone we'll be forced to evacuate.......I suggest you two get ready because if I'm right, we have one hell of a storm coming." Erik left the two with that and heading upstairs to his quarters.
Sydney woke up in the hospital bed, his wounds had been treated surprisingly well, and Achille's tendon was stitched up and around. Soon a soldier stumbled through the door.
"What's the word on the streets private?" Sydney asked. The soldier twittled his thumbs around and looked down at the floor.
"You might not want to hear this, but the clinic invasion turned out to be a setback for us statistic wise."
"How many?" Sydney asked.
"Well, we only captured 5 infected, 21 are dead, we're not sure if they were civilians or infected, and our numbers came out at 76 dead and 37 wounded."
"Jesus, how the hell could the men fuck it up this badly? I go incapacitated for how long?"
"It's just been 2 days sir."
"Get me my shades and lets get out of here. We're going to fix this little mistake"
"But the doctor's insisted you stay here for at least another day."
"Fine, fine, at least it'll give me some time to think about how we can right this wrong."
Sorry I've been gone for the past 2 days, internet went down. I also probably won't be posting till tomorrow afternoon because school is also starting tomorrow.
It was Kyle's second day in the Hive, he was reluctant to sign all the paperwork, and only gave the essential information. This was the first time in the last three years he didn't wake up in that old military bar, the first time he wasn't forced to do P.T.
Kyle was getting anxious to turn his powers on the G.I.C., remembering well the exhilaration he felt while pumbling the off duty soldier at that dave bar two days ago.
Sydney walked out of the hospital feeling empowered as news reports flooded the streets on television and newspaper as they covered his story of the clinical raid. It was a much larger success than initially led on by the bumbling soldier in his hospital room. Troops were able to capture pictures of those caught fleeing the clinic marking them as infected.
Soon the word had spread and reports came in as people turned in those they spotted on the new posters leading to a total capture of 13 more infected. Sydney knew that this would be one of his crowning moments.
