"I don't know Mr. Drebin, my mom alway told me not to take things from strangers..."
"Snake if he asks you to test out the gun in his van DON'T DO IT!"

There should be more of these mini series, I mean this has got to be the best set of videos yet!

You know, I never played any of the Metal Gear Solid games, and the more I watch these Unskippables, the less sense it makes. Less than nothing...

"And if you want to see what that phone call looks like just watch any of the 30 billion that pepper the game." HA! OHH, they're getting better.

I sorta thought that such an atrociously written game needed piss-taking narration by you guys, but it seems this little mini-series is working out perfectly.

I'd say it equals win but then I'd feel sad face.

The bar on the bottom, so people know, goes down in cutscenes whenever Snake is reminded he's old. (It goes down in game too, but for different reasons.) There are a few ways to get it back up (lol) by doing certain stuff. Rumor has it that you can look up Naomi's skirt (I'm not kidding, you press r1 when he drops the cigerette) and that restores one bar of stamina. Makes sense :p

Also, great job although this wasn't my favorite one. Is it sad that I attribute the end game messages to each of you depending on how the writing is? For instance, this one I'd attribute to Paul because of the wording, espcially "oh well." Or whatever two word sentence was at the end. I can hear him say that, and sometimes I read stuff and it's kind of straight through and I can hear Graham saying it. I'm probably just insane though.

Nice Army of Darkness reference.
Where was that? I must have missed that.
Actually, it's a double reference to both Army of Darkness, and the film AoD was referencing, the original Day the Earth Stood Still.
That's what I remembered it from, the original Day the Earth Stood Still, I completely forgot about Army of Darkness.
The remake of Day the Earth Stood Still also had the GORT shutdown phrase but it was only used once by Klatu.

The whole gun dealer and customization thing reminded me of Mercenaries, RE 4 and RE 5.

The monkey was using his sexy monkey charms to lure Snake in to getting the gun...I was slightly scared and yet incredibly happy to see a monkey in undercrackers (or underwear to normal non northerners/freaks). Brilliant again guys!

Awesome guys... Look forward to your show every week. Loved the "calm down Snake, he's not Miss Clio."

Hahaha, you guys really tore that one to pieces.
It's becoming more and more apparent to me why you guys were so heavily requested to do this game...it's just begging for a verbal paddling at your hands.
Can't wait for you guys to cover the action scenes...if this one is any evidence, it'll be epic.

Why was there porn groove music playing through almost the entire thing?

And did it take five minutes to establish that the guy was basically a merchant?

Also, what is up with that monkey?

So many questions, none that I want answered.
Because they're trying to establish that he's a very smooth and stereotypically charismatic black man.

And because Japanese just love to reiterate.

One of the motion capture guys for MGS4 displayed that he could do a good impression of a monkey, so they just decided to throw it in. Sure, it ruins the dramatic tension of every scene it's in, but come on: it's a monkey!

Tch tch tch, skipping the title for greater effect... am I the only one to notice this? The title should have been at the end of ep 1

EDIT: i haven't played the game but that old snake health bar really confused me, does he get older whenever he fails to shoot things?
For that matter, why is he called "Old Snake" as opposed to just "Snake"? Way to rub it in, game interface.
It's just the game designers way to show that he's agitated by the thought that he's that old and sometimes weak. At least I think so.
That's your psyche bar. It goes down when Snake has depressing moments, and considering that Snake loves to fire guns and is denied the opportunity to, he comes over all eighty-year-old emo for a spell.

But mostly it goes down when other characters call him old.

Good video, I'm just disappointed that you didn't take the easy Frank Drebin joke when you had the opportunity.

Actually, the title is a full 4 minutes of cinematic later than where we ended our first episode.
We didn't cut it "for effect", we didn't use it because it just wasn't a scene we wanted to use.

Thanks, Graham. I was just curious seeing as you guys can have covered a good variety of games since you got started.

Damn, I had to crank the monitor brightness to max just to see the outlines of the characters.
