"Talula does the hula from Hawaii" No, really, someone in New Zealand called their daughter that.

Also from New Zealand, twins called "Fish" and "Chips".

Not to mention that family in the US that called all their kids "Adolf Hitler" and "Aryan Supremacy" or somesuch.

Actually, just look here:

I have the perfect name for any son I happen to have: I'm gonna name him "Daniel", but instead of the I in Daniel, it's gonna be a J like in Fjord. Therefor, my sons name will be Danjel, and will be pronounced Daniel.

That's the most unusual name I've heard, and I came up with it!

I swear I remember a story from awhile back about an Australian couple trying to name their kid Superman. Apparently, that was their second choice. Their first choice had a number in it (I think it was 2Real, or something like that).

I had a friend back in High School whose legal name was Zacker. They forgot the y when making his birth certificate.

I also have relative who's name is Zion. Like from the Bible and it's also a location in the Bible not a name so...

Edit: Just remembered that in an anime called Servant X Service, one of the main characters first name is "Lucy Kimiko Akie Airi Shiori Rinne Yoshiho Ayano Tomika Chitose Sanae Mikiko Ichika"

It's at least a name, even if not a person's name, so that sorta makes sense.

I once had a classmate whose name was leukemia (probable not spelled the same but that's what it sounded like) I always thought it was a very unfortunate thing.

Names that rhyme with "Aiden" are incredibly popular near where I live (I used to work in a bakery, and had to personalize between 10-20 cakes on a given day, along with my actual work). So I've heard the gamut from A-den, Ay-den, bray-den, ca-den,etc. to a couple of Zaiden. Sadly, no Raiden, which would've been the only one I could justify.

The weirdest name I've heard is Ledasha - spelt with a hyphen. Why the fuck someone would want to name their baby Le-a I have no idea...

The worst name I ever saw was a girl who worked at Dunkin Donuts named Toshiba. This slightly beats out my grand-uncle Dick's full name of Richard Smull.

There's some weird names out there, hell my first name is weird and my middle name came from Frank Herbert's Dune, but if I see one more baby boy named Caden, Aiden, or Jaden on my Facebook page, I might cry.

Apparently, according to one of the panels at the expo, Yahtzee went to school with someone named Richard Innman. XD

And for bitterness's sake I'm not very fond of my first name either. I was made fun of for it all the time.

You forgot the 'remainder omitted' bit!!

Pretty good series... harmless silly fun.

OT: Can't really think of any, but the silliest case I saw was of parents who refused to name their child because they didn't want to assign a gender to him/her/it. Quite how the hell that works, I don't know...

Anyway, 'strange' names are generally the ones I come up with for fictional purposes.

Having said that, weird names of the modern generation (or those people who give their children silly names) have absolutely no sense of etymology. Still, I'd like to see if anyone's called their daughter 'Hel'...

EDIT: However, as a joke, if I ever have twin sons, I'll call 'em Deimos and Phobos... and if I have triplet daughters, I'll call them Megaera, Alecto and Tisiphone. I wonder how that reflects on me...

Seriously, though if I was to do something like this, I'd probably just patch together names from the Plaque of Ascoli... or something... >_> ...

North West is pretty bad.
Although she could call her biography "North by North West".

Also, if she ever had a music career and did a tour in the Middle-East that went badly, you could have headlines read "North West tour in Middle-East goes south".

My aunt is called 'Heli', if that's close enough. It's a common Finnish name, though.

My two aunts from my grandfather's side are called Sirkka and Kerttu. Common enough names, but they are also both insects, a crasshopper and a ladybug respectively.

I have no problem with 'odd' foreign names given to kids with Finnish parents and no foreign relatives, but it should be easy enough to pronounce.

'Frodo' or 'Sinuhe' are easy to say in Finnish and use in a sentence, 'Ridge' is not.
