This is an abominable decision. Didn't Valve just release the tools for map making for L4D? That game isn't even close to dying; it's still approaching its prime!

Oh, and if it's going to be in "Nawlins", I think the political **** is about to hit the fan when people realize that means that at least 65% of the zombies need to be Black.

that makes no sense, if it was 65% the NAACP would have a collective stroke, the balanced mix is 98% whitey 2% black and the black ones need to be killing whitey.
Why would you balance the game by shooting black people? Your supposed to be killing whitey, the great oppressor.

that's why they made more than one person black in the MC's lineup

Nice news, but...

Valve? Where is Half life 2, episode 3? Come on, at least give us a hint that you are working on it somewhere!
I'm beginning to suspect they'll release ep 3 on a new game engine.... like source 2 or whatever
hmmm... I hadn't thought of that. It's a possibility, certainly... does this mean we'll have to wait til 7 years after ep2 again? :(

Waaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy to soon.
Why? It'll have been in development for some time, it probably uses the same engine so they don't have to start from scratch. If you think it's too soon then don't buy it, I'll be enjoying me some chainsaw/fire axe goodness.

meh, i beleive it.. i dont think it will be out this year, as the trailer sayes... but valve got a good response from L4D and seeing as the story line was chunked up in the first one anyway.. a sequal would be easy, in the sense of worrying about the story...

or this could be the escapist taking a page from yahtzee's book and taking the piss... lol one of the 2

So your telling me, it's taking them longer to release episode 3, an EPISODE longer than to release l4d one AND two, Jesus Christ guys.

Lovely ..
Dude yor conseption of "tiny" is incredibly big
Valve insulted the PS3. Hence, Indigo, PS3 fanboy of the nth degree, hates Valve and all their games with a burning passion that would set fire to the entire planet were it unleashed at once.

i.e. Indigo is whining, ignore him ;)

The Microsoft tie-in I think is because it's being released on the 360. As far as I know L4D was published by EA unless I'm wrong and Microsoft has bought EA(god I hope I'm wrong), I have no love for EA and their shameless marketing but damn. I think the reason it could be released so quickly is because L4D was developed by LA-based Turtle Rock Studios after they were swallowed up by Valve last January. I think it's the only game they've been working on and it would follow that they're developing the sequel.

Let's all hope most of the crew up in Washington are busting their asses on Episode 3. By the way, I didn't read through the 8 pages of the topic so ignore this if it was covered before.

Yeah, I know .. I probably shouldn't even bothered responding - my bad.

Then why did it not drop bellow 20 quid (on steam atleast)(...)
Not sure .. But if I had to guess, I'd guess that it was because it was populare/good enough to not do so. And since Valve (no matter how much everybody would like to think of themselves as Valve's friends rather than customers) want to make money, they took advantage of that. Wouldn't you?

But in the business world, dropping prices slightly will encourage more people to buy, like the half price weekends steam has, whether it be for a weekend or overall. It's what discouraged people like me and my brother to buy it. Basically i think it should have dropped to at least 15 or even 12 considering.

20 pound, a lot of people buy
10 pound, Everyone buys =] :p

Aww, I wish the last scene with the frying pan had a more ... you know .... "pong" effect to it, rather than hearing the same sound of flesh being crushed.
Yeah same here. It would emphasise the comical effect. Also, I can't help but feel that Valve were playing Dead Rising in the conference room.

then i will start to like Valve
Gabe, and by extension Valve, hate the PS3 and thought it should never have come into existence, so.... I'm gonna go out on a limb and say "No".

Buy a decent PC or the 360 if you want it.

Is it just me, or does the trailer look LESS graphically appealing than the first?
My only theory is that it's just an early, un-polished preview.

..That's like making a new Team Fortress instead of adding content with patches...
My guess is that is exactly what they're going to do for the TF2 360 update.
Funny, because I would totally buy "another" TF with the updates for the 360, but there's no way in hell I'm buying L4D2.

Also I would just like to point out the extreme IRONY that a Call of Duty game, MW2, has had a longer development cycle than a VALVE game, L4D2. To me, MW2 looks likes it contains signficant upgrades over MW in the graphics and content ( maps, weapons, gameplay modes) rather than the extremley modest ones that L4D2 seems to have over L4D.

If this is legit, then either Valve was developing the second one while waiting to release the first, they're working on this instead of the next Half-Life, or I'm a monkey's uncle.
I'm going to go with this.

I'm happy either way; I don't give a hoot about all the other junk... I like L4D; Just hope they still let User Created Maps become playable soon.
Holy crap, I think it is legit, it's got a trailer. I'll be happy also, just hope that the creative tools for the PC get transferred to the console versions...and maybe a character creator.
Not likely anytime soon. A char creator though... Seems feasible.
