UPDATE: Microsoft Announces Left 4 Dead 2

I had been teetering on the like/dislike valve fence for some time now, and this announcement knocked me flying over dislike... right into hate. God damn you valve for making me spend another £40 on another mediorce game when that comes out. And no, i cant just not buy it and shut up, L4D is a social game, so either we all get it or no-one gets it, or everyone hates everyone else and no-one can finish a campaign alive. There no way in hell its gonna be the former.
Really i don't know why everyones getting so dam worked up.
First, it's a god damn teaser trailer, not a final product.
Second, I've heard allot about how the characters aren't as likable and or charming this time around. Did you see the first stage characters last time? Well if you haven't just take a look at them for a minute.

certainly not as likable as they were before. (If you ask me anyways.)
As far as we know this games in the very beginning stages of it's production and we should probably hold back most of are criticism until we see the final product. But really there's some weird feeling in my gut saying that this should be a 25$ - 30$ DLC....that or it's last nights left overs working up again. :S
I hate to say this but, Come on Valve...I want Half life Epsiode: 3...and a new scout shirt that I would actually buy and also a Medic shirt that's as good as the new shirts...Is that to much to ask?,ok it is. one can only dream.

Pure unbridled awesomeness.. I love left 4 dead! I'll admit this does seem too great to be true but hey, thats no reason to be angry at Valve, (or Microshaft whoevers pulling the strings). Seriously a great game looks to be coming out and everyone complains about its predecessor or a expansion to another franchise... what kind of a world is this, revel and be happy my miserable friends.
Anyone else think the narrator is Ving Rhames of Pulp Fiction "I'm gonna get medieval on your ass" fame?
Or it could just be the fact that the game is only being released on the 360 and PC, by the looks of it. Both are Microsoft territory. Hence why they announced it.JWAN said:

While my initial reaction was very negative, I had forgotten two things: first, that this is a teaser, designed only to say that the game is being made in some form. Secondly, Valve subscribes to the same design philosophy as Blizzard: they release games when they are DONE, as in perfected. So it'll be a long time before the sequel comes along, and during that time who knows what they'll add to the original game? They already had the Survival mode update...
Anyone seen the new gameplay footage of L4D2?
I'm kinda disappointed by it, you get to see one of the new special infected; 'The Charger' (looks like the the tank but one of his arms is tiny), guess what his ability is...
The Spas 12 shotgun looks nice but it's nothin but a re-skin, twin pistols...fine...nothin on new melee stuff yet.
The 4 new survivors (Coach, Nick, Ellis and Rochelle) don't stand out as much as the original four for me either.
Anyone else's thoughts?

I'm happy to see that they are coming out with a new games. Sure, L4D was kind of small but I never expected them to keep giving me more and more game for free (even though they kind of did that).
My only problem is that my main games are COD4 and L4D so it stinks for me that they are coming out at the same time.

I think its Valves baby so they should show it off. If Microsoft starts digging into it I'm afraid they might muck with it too much and turn the golden child into a shortbus seatwarmer.
