Also, the Party associate Submission Position was the position GlaDos instructed Chell to adopt after she escaped the incinerator, saying "a party associate will arrive shortly"
Hmm...But who is the party associate? A new villain I'm guessing, as GlaDoS is obviously dead. Nothing to show otherwise.
robots dont die they just have there memories wiped send there harddrives to a newer more advanced model something maybe like I dont know 3.11 version or something...

UPDATED: Portal 2 To Feature Co-op Play, Possible ARG Hints

After speculation this week, Valve has officially come out to say that Portal 2 is indeed dropping this holiday season.

UPDATE: New details on the gameplay of Portal 2 have emerged. The sequel introduces two new characters and a previously unseen area of Aperture Science Labs. You will once again work with GlaDOS, but Portal 2 will have a two player co-op campaign with its own story that will force the players to solve puzzles together. Portal 2 will be released on PC and Xbox 360.

Source: GameInformer [http://gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2010/03/05/Portal-2-For-Two.aspx]

A brief press release from Valve stated the accolades of the company and the many awards (70) that the first Portal received. The sequel is currently slated to come out "this holiday season" but there were no details provided on the setting, plot or anything, really. Going to the Steam website to view continuing ARG [http://store.steampowered.com/news/3559/] which was hinted at earlier this week.

Here follows the complete text from the Steam website including the underlined characters:

Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Left 4 Dead, Counter-Strike and Half-Life) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced Portal 2 for shipment this coming holiday season.

Portal 2 is the sequel to 2007's Portal, which won 70 industry achievement awards.

For more information, please visit www.steamgames.com [http://www.steamgames.com]

So the underlined characters are: D R A T M A N N H 0 N E E.

I have no idea what that means, or if it means anything at all. That's your job to figure out. Get to it.

Error on the article. In the release page, there's an underline under the "T" for technology so it should be: D R A T T M A N N H 0 N E E

firstly, http://gameinformer.com/mag/portal2.aspx
secondly, I heard Valve confirmed the next Half-Life won't be out this year, period, although we might hear about a release date as Portal 2 gets closer, and a lot of people, myself included, are pretty sure it's not going to be HL2: Ep. 3, but Half-Life 3, which entails a longer dev time
thirdly, Ratman isn't fan-given name, one of the devs calls him that in the commentary
lastly, it could be, and I hope it is, part of an "Orange Box 2", hopefully with the Half-Life games, the first Portal, and maybe TF2 and/or the Left 4 Dead games... hmm, "Orange Box 2: Oranger Box"...

I still haven't found anything where it was Valve saying they weren't releasing it this year, all I've heard are rumors...

Wait, does that mean it WON'T come put on PS3 or just that it's not confirmed yet?

this might be nothing but when I typed in rattmann on google the first website that came up was rattmann.com and on the site it said

"The Rattmann family has nothing to show or tell you at this time. Thank you for asking."

It probably has nothing to do with this but hey...

Da Ratman n Honee OR The Ratman and Honey I think are the two characters for the co-op campaign, if not, at least it's a decent guess.

Well, I know that "the Rat Man" is the fan nickname for the guy who went through the test chanbers before Chell, the player character, did. He was the one who left those "the cake is a lie" messages all over the place, and the hints about where to go next. As for "honey", I've heard an interesting theory in the past that Chell may be Eli Vance's wife, as it's not impossible to see Chell as an older version of the woman in the picture that Eli has on his desk. Could be just crazy speculation, but I guess we'll find out (or have Valve tease us with a lot more cryptic information) soon.
You, sir, just blew my mind with that thought. I am rather intrigued at a 2 player coop with portal guns.
And I always knew GlaDOS wasn't finished.

Oh yeah and I was going to say something about the Ratman since I saw his name in there but people already said it's a login so I didn't bother :3 you found more than I did though.

I know I'm just thinking too much but wasn't the game going to be a prequel? what if the second subject is the ratman before he went completely insane? :D

The code was the login to the BBS, where it gave an image code or something that some bright spark turned into this: http://bayimg.com/OaLeHAacA
Which seems to suggest Portal 2 is multiplayer...
Or Beta codes for those who completed the ARG.

It doesn't spell 'Half Life 2: Episode 3' or 'Gordon Freeman', so it doesn't matter. This whole thing about delaying Ep 3 is just starting to really piss me off. Gamers don't want sequels to games that don't need sequels like Left 4 Dead, Portal and the such, we want games we were promised years ago.

In what world does this make any sense?

The more I hear people ***** and whine and complain about no Episode 3 the less I want it to actually come out and thus the more I revel in the despair of others when Valve announces another project that's actually interesting (seriously, this is) and yet people will vehemently refuse to enjoy it because it's not Episode 3

Of course then they go out and buy it anyway because they have the average willpower of a cigarette addict.

It's not confirmed, but since Gabe isn't exactly the PS3's number one fan, and neither left 4 dead was ever released for the PS3, it's not looking good.
