I do not care if the car might be made of better parts if the car is not winning a disproportionate amount of races.
And what if there hasn't been enough races to tell if it's winning a disproportionate amount of races? Do you just let the better car race until there's enough races to prove it has an advantage? You think the other teams would be very happy with that decision?

That's literally how it works in racing. We didn't ban the NASA designed super suits until *after* they dominated the water

OMFG, it's not a paraphrase of a dictionary entry, it's the fucking dictionary entry. Female refers to sex.
Once again, I hate to tell you this, but Google is not a dictionary. It sources its definitions from the OED, which is likely to have a larger definition in full for both 'trans' and 'woman'.

The OED is not available for free. I had a quick look on Cambridge, and the first definition for "female" on there is.... "of or relating to women".

And the definition of transgender is gender based... And thus is basically the same exact thing as the original definition.
Not really sure why you're saying this...? Everyone here acknowledges 'transgender' refers to gender.

Funny how you ignored the question of what the other teams would think. Was only one country allowed to wear the suits and no one else?

You get basically the same definitions at Merriam-Webster as well. So you think there's some Google conspiracy in not showing you the whole definition? Again, I'm just using words as they are defined.

Because you made the following dumb argument. And if you replace the word transgender in "a transgender woman" with the definition of transgender, you get exactly what the original definition of trans woman says.
...do you actually not understand how dictionary entries are structured? Alternative senses are delineated by semi-colons. The second sense there is "a transgender woman". No "as". The word "woman" is used as part of the definition.

Literally the second definition of "female" in Merriam Webster is this: "having a gender identity that is the opposite of male".

šŸ˜‚ No, I merely think that if you insist on quoting definitions, you probably shouldn't be using Google paraphrases of a dictionary that is inaccessible unless we pay money.

...you also get the word "woman".

Part of the definition of "trans woman" that you're quoting is that they're women.

And the 1st definition is again?

You have 0 proof that Google has paraphrased these dictionary entries.

The definition is identify AS a woman. Is a furry a person that identifies AS an animal or someone that IS an animal (other than human obviously)?

The first definition relates to sex.

You do realise that when a word has multiple definitions, it's not just the first one that counts. "Female", per the Merriam Webster definitions, can be used to refer to people with a gender identity the opposite of male.

You have 0 proof that Google has paraphrased these dictionary entries.
Most definitions turned up by Google are shorter than you'd expect from a respected dictionary, so there's certainly editing that occurs. There's also the fact that it defines multiple-word terms (like trans woman), which dictionaries tend not to do.

Not really relevant, though. We have multiple dictionaries that are freely accessible, such as the one above which you brought up, and which explicitly refers to gender identity.

The definition is identify AS a woman. Is a furry a person that identifies AS an animal or someone that IS an animal (other than human obviously)?
In the definition you quoted, "woman" does not solely come after the term "identifies as". It also says, very simply, "a transgender woman". A very simple adjective-subject sentence. Someone who is transgender. And a woman.

But sex is the main definition. And what is so bad about using that as your definition of the word?

Merriam-Webster has a definition of "trans woman" too.

Again, in "a transgender woman" replace the word transgender with its definition and you literally get the original definition, it's the same exact fucking thing.

Only the rich countries with access to the manufacturing tech. Was only one team allowed a transgender swimmer?

Regardless, they didn't ban the suit until it *proved* to be a huge, actual domineering advantage, which is not a thing trans people represent

What evidence do we have that Google employed a load of linguists and lexicographers?

(I can't help but wonder that they shoved a load of other people's hard work into a database and had an algorithm write a meaning from them.)

Edit: Nevermind: " The [Google] dictionary content is licensed from Oxford University Press's OxfordDictionaries.com "

Nothing is wrong with using it. But you can't decide which definition to use, exclude all others, and then claim the dictionary supports you. They all apply.

Merriam-Webster has a definition of "trans woman" too.
Oh, so it does, actually! Happily, the very first two words of that definition is "A woman".

Again, in "a transgender woman" replace the word transgender with its definition and you literally get the original definition, it's the same exact fucking thing.
... and you also get the word woman. The definition is describing the hypothetical person as a woman.

So no countries were banned from these suits then... Swimming isn't a team sport... And you do not know that...

And looking up the definition for car nets you different definitions but the car (that people drive everywhere) and the other definitions of cars are obviously different things much like the definitions for woman.

No it's not...

Nope, both are saying that trans woman is someone of the male sex that identifies as a woman. Again is a furry a person that is an animal?

Right, yes, different definitions are different. Obviously, or they... would just all be one definition.

What you're doing is equivalent to saying that a railway car isn't a car, because definition 1 refers to the thing people drive, and that's the only definition you're accepting. But you cannot just pick and choose a definition. They're all applicable. A railway car is a car.

No it's not...

"A woman who was assigned male at birth". Word for word.

Nope, both are saying that trans woman is someone of the male sex that identifies as a woman. Again is a furry a person that is an animal?
Those words literally are not in the definition. "Woman" is.

At this point you're just point-blank insisting the dictionary says something, and pointing to definitions that don't include what you say, and/or directly contradict you. Complete clowning.

Mans so keen to dunk on people about how clever he is. "Swimming is not a team sport" forget relays exist AND that Olympic swimmers are designated as teams? Hence "The teams which could afford the suits".

I'm stuck on the banned swimsuits somehow not being banned. Utterly baffled about what argument he thinks he's making

Damn, another thing that wouldn't happen happening?

Girls already have a stigma against playing sports because they might look too manly, now if they do too good they'll get bullied over it. Congradufuckinglations TERFs, you're helping conservative enforce gender stereotypes

"Spatafore said the association has received other complaints, some that said ā€œthat female athlete doesnā€™t look feminine enough.ā€
