Well, It was more than just L4D2 that brought us there, we spent a good deal of time talking to Chet and the L4D/L4D2 team about what's comming up for L4D too. They were pretty darn open about everything, there was only two real things they asked us not to talk about. One was details on DLC after Crash Course, the other pertains to L4D2 and will not be spoken of by me, period.

Anyway, on the serious side. People seem to be deliberately ignoring the fact that at least some of the criticism directed towards L4D2 was based on worries that L4D1 would be abandoned as a $50 demo. Saying "It's Valve, they'd never do that!" was countered with the fact that, once upon a time, we all thought EA was cool and wouldn't do bad things.

On the other hand, between news that's come to light since the boycott started and now this, anyone still dedicated to the idea that L4D1 will just be left by the wayside is probably simply afraid to admit being wrong.

But seriously, guys. Not everyone that was upset about the L4D2 announcement just "wanted everything for free". Some of us just didn't want to be stuck with an unfinished $50 game while a $10 baby (TF2) kept seeing the love.

I'm not buying the game, nothing against valve or nothing but Team Fortress 2 is much more fun to me than L4D ever was to warrant me buying a sequel.

Rather than show the injustice of these two guys getting a free trip, Valve have been pretty clever and cool. By winning over two of the main leaders in this rather pathetic boycott, they have made all the other fools (who think that not buying Left 4 Dead 2 immediatly at launch will show Valve) to be the idiots that they are. nothing is going to be achieved by boycotting it. Left 4 Dead was a good game which was supported well, and still will be recieveing add ons as previously promised, and for those of us who after a whole year might want a new game... well now we have one.

As a business move this is indeed gold. On the other hand they're giving two loudmouths some award for being a loudmouth. I hope this doesn't set a precedent.

These two shitbags have hardly played this game. Between the two, they have only 59 Versus games played, have only finished 15 of them, and have only won 4 games. This smells awfully fishy to me.

I said it before and I'll say it again: They wouldn't have pulled this kind of stunt with any other company (save for Blizzard). If Activision said on behalf of Infinity Ward "yeah we're putting in 3 more maps and a new gun into CoD 4" and it never happened, you probably wouldn't even see a boycott, or even a collective bitching of the community.
