People on the intarwebs (outside of a few sanctuaries such as the Escapist) are idiots. In fact, based on the number of trolls and rage-inducing cretins compared to rational, logical people like us, I think that the majority of at least the United States is made up of idiots. This is why I have a tough time thinking about whether I should give blood. On one hand, I am helping nullify natural selection by helping someone who most-likely has been stagnating the gene pool with thier existence. On the other, I get free Oreos and a glass of orange juice. Damn you, American Red Cross, damn you for having Oreos...

I can see calling RE5 racist, while I don't think it is, the situation being located in africa results in a lot of black people being mutant zombie things.

But L4D:2? Laughable.

I think it would probs be more racist to not hav any other race in it, i mean common America has pretty much atleast 1 of every member of every country colour and creed in it, it would b more retarded not to hav any other people in it.

also im sure this is a guy who would still say if it was racist if res5 had only white zombies even if it was set in africa stil, so no point feeding his ego, by talking about it.

^This. Usually, I prefer a road less harsh. But in this case... nah.

*EDIT*
On a side note, the Call of Juarez 'revelation' might be even -stupider-.

If he played the game at all, he'd have known that you end up fighting -against- the Confederacy despite whatever you'd be led to think in the first, I dunno... FIVE MINUTES of the frackin' game

Call of Juarez Bound in Blood is not a racist game. It's a story based on actual events, surely it's worse to ignore history than to pretend it never happened.

The protagonists in the story represent a fairly normalmindset and behaviour of that era. They also defect from the Confederate side. Concerning history lessons it is interesting to note that the Confederate army suffered significant mutinies as most of the soldiers did not own decent land let alone any slaves. They did not all want to put their lives on the line over a rich man's priorities.

The Civil War was not all about race, it was about a power struggle between those who did and those who did not want to accept the power of the federal state.

In any case it's not like the Civil War actually sorted many problems. Poverty remained among the African-American society and it was for another 100 years until the Civil Rights movement started to get real change to occur.

Its just some a**hole purposely missinterperating it. RE5 was not intended to be racist, but because of where it is set it is an easy target for for people itching to play the race card. Left 4 Dead is just a smaller target for them to hit. Anyone with half a brain knows game developers don't intend to be racist (that is unless they want to destroy their own reputation). But people immediatly saay they are for reasons I can't understand.

/rant over.

The Confederate flag is not a symbol of racism, dammit!
Sure, there are some idiots, like klansmen, who misuse it, but they also misuse the crusifix, too!
The Confederacy itself wasn't about white supremacy, either! A lot of states wanted to keep slavery, but the essence of the war was about a different governmental mindset: The North wanted the states wanted a federal government with all the power while the Confederacy wanted the states to be independent, almost to the point of being their own individual countries.
Irk! Exaggerating morons!
We have a winner!

This is pretty much as close as you're going to get to historical accuracy about the feelings from the higher ups. Slavery was used to fuel the war for the common folk. Everyone above that was looking to stay in control in the ways they saw fit.

As for his racist accusations of L4D2, well, you really have to be the writer of this blog or whatever it was in order to see where hes coming from. It just doesn't make sense. New Orleans was/still is heavily populated by blacks, there are just no if ands or buts about it. If I ran into New Orleans and found nothing but white zombies, something would be amiss.

Utter Insanity indeed.

"The racial makeup of the city was 67.25% African American, 28.05% White, 0.20% Native American, 2.26% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.93% from other races, and 1.28% from two or more races. 3.06% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race." - Wikipedia, on New Orleans.

The fucking majority is black.
How does including them make it racist?
If anything, the opposite should be true!

I honestly cannot fathom the stupidity that goes on in the mind of this man.
Jesus Christ. Seriously.

I keep re-reading the article to make sure I didn't make some sort of reading comprehension error.
If I there aren't any pacific islander zombies, I'm calling racism.

Valve shouldn't have even dignified this bullshit with a response. Responding to crazy people makes them talk even more.

Who cares if there are African American zombies along side the white zombies. People need to learn that if you live on this planet, you are fair game to be a bad guy in a video game...NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Clearly, the point of all this is that black people are magical like unicorns, and should not be approached by any except the fairest virgins so as to not upset their delicate sensibilities. Or something.

I voted for a black president, this guy can cram it up his pork hole. Who in the world see's a zombie and THINKS about the color of their skin? I think "AHH! ZOMBIE!*BLAMBLAMBLAM*".

I HAVE noted however the zombies in l4d seem to utter a cry that sounds like "Beunos Dias!". Why hasn't anyone called racism on that? Clearly L4D is just a racist metaphor about the immigration issue! EVERYONE LOOK AT ME, I'M TALKING ABOUT RACISM! PAY ATTENTION TO ME AND BUY MY BOOK BECAUSE I'M TALKING ABOUT RACISM WHICH MUST MAKE ME SMART!

That was sarcasm by the way.

Yay we can kill people of all races and creed.

Though I'm not sure about the confederate flag, weren't they the evil-(er) guys in the American civil war, how is the flag viewed by Americans? Does the flag carry the same kind of hatred as say a swastika does to Germans, or is it something that no one really cares about, like the Welsh flag :).

Sigh this racism thing has gone far to far. There is absolutely nothing racist about L4D2, its fairly realistic portrayal of New Orleans (minus the zombies), of course there will be African Americans among them. On top of that two of the main characters are even African American, its getting stupid now.

Oh, so shooting a white zombie is okay but shooting a black isn't? Now that's racism.
No, as I have learned as a "Caucasian" in america ((screw you, I don't come from caucasia, I am Roman and Jewish dammit!!)), it is only racist if the people are not white. those are the rules. it is impossible to be racist against white people.

Oh Willie, would you do us all a favor and eat the end of a double barelled shotugn? make sure you pull the trigger.

I live in Texas, and in Houston no less. Don't let this guy make you think we're all as sensitive to racism. Most of us could care less if you're racist or not because all of our parents and grandparents and great grandparents and so on are all racists. Not secret racists either, they'll let you know they're racist as soon as they see a newspaper with obama on it or w/e. But the next generation that I'm included in are not racist, but they have a strange tweak to their non-racism by not caring if you're a racist and tryinh to convert you if you are.
