Valve To Distribute Casual Games Over Steam
Valve has announced a deal with PopCap to distribute 17 of their causal-friendly games to Steam users.
Starting on August 30th, Valve will be releasing PopCap [http://www.popcap.com/] games over Steam, their digital distribution service. Known for their popular casual games like Bejeweled and Zuma, PopCap's inclusion in Valve's online service marks a step into the casual game market for the company. "The benefits of Steam will now be provided to a much wider group of games and game customers. PopCap games by themselves are larger by an order of magnitude than the next-gen consoles online gaming services," said Gabe Newell, the president of Valve Software.
Each PopCap game will be offered with trial versions and some will be bundled into different software packages.
