video game characters that could be good

ok so weve all seen video game characters who are annoying. or stupid. or pointless. or they have a bad costume. or you just dont like them for whatever stupid reason. weve all seen them. but a lot of them could be a lot better if someone did something about them. as an example, remember tails from sonic the hedgehog? hes pretty annoying huh? well i think that of all the characters in the sonic universe he has the best potential to be cool, mainly if he actually grew up a bit (apparently hes supposed to be eight years old). point is, what characters do you think could do better (im expecting a lot of people to say "this guy but more badass")?
