Hahahaha that is awesome.

I think my own mother would probably react to the worst scenes with "Well that's really pleasant" or "He doesn't look very nice".

Whether or not this is a good idea since it'll reinforce the violent games for kids stereotype....who knows. But it's still funny.

Seriously, they took the very thing that most would use AGAINST video games, and used it to their advantage. Brilliant.
Either that or they gave fox news a great set of clips to take out of context and rail against violent games. Them asking what your mom think implies a younger audience that they're advertising to as well. SO KIDS TELL YOUR PARENTS, BUY ME DEADSPACE OR GO TO HELL!

/facepalm about all the people getting angry about this video.

You really don't understand it? You don't understand how this could be a good advertisement? And it's not funny because your mothers don't care what you play?

What the fuck, internet became serious business again or what?
It's a joke, nothing more. And a good one at that. Pull that stick out of your asses.
THaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you!

OT: hilarious, well done. I wonder if the Dante's inferno marketing guys had a hand in this? (Mediocre game, Great PR)

LOL this was really funny XD

The EA team sure knows how to market games, but not so much in making them good...just mediocre.
Im pretty sure they did this for the lulz.

What other reaction did they expect form "Moms taken from the conservative heart of America"?
:p

And i have high hopes for DS2, i need to download the demo.
Played the demo and it doesnt wow me...

Didnt like the first game and I dont think Im gonna like this one either.

They just took the resident evil route with "this game isnt scary so lets just make it action packed"
No?
Oh well, i loved the first one.
The story is really interesting and i love the style of the environment/character.
Though it is disappointing that its not really "Scary".
First one did manage to make me jump several times though.

To me a couple of "jumps" isnt scary, its just surprising.

And it seems they're not even gonna try to be scary and just go with the action packed bandwagon.

How ignorant are these people? Seriously. They seem to have a problem with realising what is reality and what is fantasy. I dont get it.

My mum loves these sort of games and shes not even a gamer. She loves Resident Evil just because of the story line. I think alot of parents would love games if they werent so narrow minded about it. Also, that last woman, Lol. Thats all I have to say.

EDIT: Oh and from the previews in this ad the game looks a little too action packed for me. I was hoping for more of the slow torturous gameplay in Dead Space 1. Ill probably rent this before I buy it now.

Unimpressed. My mother hates all games, so she'll hate Dead Space 2 regardless of the content.

its not a game... its a mind numbing, mind altering, demonic weapon.
That is totally the meaning of a game, good campaign.

Ditto, once I got to my second play-through and realized the spawn points never change, as well as having a fully upgraded pulse rifle, it became more of a game of looking for shit to manually disassemble in the most efficient manner possible.

Lol hilarious. The mom who said it wasn't a game was the best. I wonder if they told them the REAL truth afterward. And come on people, it's a joke. It's not aimed at kids who would buy it because Mom hates it, it's aimed at older people who would get it and find it funny. And there is so much elbow room in the M rating it might be just fine for 13 yr olds. Hell, Far Cry 2 got an M and that's about as tame as it can get.

Um...we all know that supreme court end-of-video-games-as-we-know-it thing is still going on RIGHT??? Worst. Timing. Ever.

Who cares about looking like a mature, sane industry when there's money to be made and booth babes to proxy-molest? Now quick, we need Havok Physics on the boobs!

Am I the only one who would feel immature playing this game now? Like I'm just doing it to spite my parents? It makes me feel like some preteen who tries to be edgy just to get a rise out of people.
Yes you are. Get off your high horse, find the video funny and play the damn game.
How am I on a high horse for expressing my feeling about the video? It makes me feel immature, like I'd be playing the game just to offend my mother.

Maybe you should stop insulting people for having differing opinnions.
I think he was less saying you shouldn't express your feelings for the ad. I think he was talking about how you sounded like you were saying " Man I must be too mature for this because it's marketed at rebellious 13 year olds. " Sounds like those people who say they're too mature for videogames as a whole.

I liked the video alot. Seemed to be a parody of those bible belt parents who hate on almost everything " For the children "
