I've noticed that whenever I speak(or hear myself speaking) I talk in a growl. StarStruckStrumpets even suggested that I should pursue a voice-acting career when he first heard me :p
Next to that, I can shout incredibly loud: if I really want to, my voice can reach roughly farther then the other side of an American football-field. So it got me thinking;

Just how good are people on the Escapist with their voices?

I keep being told that I sound German and/or sound exactly like Arnold Schwarzenegger.
With a volume constantly twisted to 11. I'm actually proud of that, it comes in handy in team games where one commanding voice is needed.
But I sound German?
....I'm freaking Scottish.
Does every person in online games just skip geography and world culture in school?

My regular voice is nothing special. But:

I'm quite skilled at mimicry.

I am a great vocalist.

And do a great grunge voice. (Nirvana/Pearl Jam/Stone Temple Pilots/Etc.)

And boy, can I get loud. My default volume is above average.

Become a drill sargent...

I can get pretty creepy when I want. I do a great Jeremy Irons impression and a great many different accents. I do some great posh accents and I'm very good at imitation. I would say I've got a really good amount of control over my voice and a lovely singing voice so I'm told... My last producer/singing teacher thinks I could be as good as Chris Cornell one day :D

If you want a career in voice acting there are perhaps only three places to realistically try. London, LA or Vancouver.

I have quite a high voice (well higher than most guys), so it can't carry very far.
But I can force it down low enough if I want to, so I'm happy enough with my range.

Also, I can sing well enough, so that's a plus.

Most people say my voice makes me sound like a posh stoned person.

I can do quite a few accents, and that's really about it. Jeremy Clarkson imitations are fun.

I once met someone who could do perfect impressions of Tony Blair and Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

I can change my voice into some absurd sounding things, mainly since i've been makeing odd voices for laughs since i was a kid.

If you want an example, think of the voice acting of little Kuriboh, except at a much, much MUCH less experianced level.

EDIT: I can also do the Jockey Laugh, The Spitter... Growl..., and i could briefly do an Ellis Style accent, which was fun for telling storys...

Still not too sure how good they are at the moment.

I've been asked by a TSN employee to pursue a career in broadcasting because my voice is apparently cool like that. So yeah, it's deep. Can't go too high without having to switch into falsetto.

I'm naturally very quiet, but I can go from a deep growl to a high scream very well. I'm a pretty good metal vocalist.
Can't sing a lick though.

I can shout incredibly loud, and I can scream even higher than most girls my age.

Also, I was in a band and was apparently a good singer, I don't know though. I thought I sucked.

My voice is weird.

I like to think I can do I pretty good metal scream, not so much in the Rob Halford sense of the scream, but the Shagrath to Randy Blyth to Corpsegrinder sense of it. I can pretty much imitate any harse type of vocals except the high pitched inward pig squealing, but that sound aweful any way so no big loss. Screaming/Growling is fun :D

I like to say that I have a Gilbert Gottfried voice. It's just one voice, and no matter how hard I try to change it, it will always sound the same.

Now as for singing, I have been told that I have strong Baritone :)

Eh.

I can talk as loud as I want to. I talked to a guy over 35-40 meter field.

Fun times.
Oh hell yeah. I can't actually shout. I only talk really loudly. In other words, my voice doesn't distort, it just gets louder. It's fun being a BAMF, right Max?
