The Great Patriotic war for the reconquest and resettling of the Azeri lands of Nagorno-Karabakh that were conquered and stolen by the Armenians in 1994, which ended in the ethnic cleansing of the Azeri peoples from the region had been waged in the past two weeks. Despite its illegal status, the territory which none recognizes as independent had mounted a defense of its occupation. It calls itself Artsakh, an old Armenian name for the region.

Fighting had been inconclusive as of now. There are casualties for both sides. Currently Armenia proper is not yet involved in the war, and in my opinion it is due to the treaty of defense between it and Russia, and it's hopes that an Azeri advance into Armenian soil (de-jure, not the Artsakh territory) would force the Russians to intervene.
Since the battle is officially solely in the territory of Azerbaijan, and would legally be seen as a local insurgency, foreign powers are unable to intervene in favor of Armenia.
EU is, as usual, completely useless.

As of now, the conflict is a magnet for foreign fighters - Turkish-trained Syrian militias, with battle experience in Syria and Libya fight for the Azeri. Wagner group soldiers have entered the fray on the Armenian side. Armenia is recruiting for mercenaries in Ukraine (many there have battle experience thanks to Russia) and Greek volunteers are organizing to fight on the side of Armenia. A large expat population of Armenians may prove to be a fertile recruiting grounds for international fighters in the Artsakh region.

This conflict is seen as a glorious correction of past humiliation suffered by the Azeri, and Azeri military report a massive rise in volunteers. It may also be seen as an attempt by the Azeri autocrat to divert attention outwards and away from his 'less than democratic' ways.

Generally speaking, nobody really cares about this outside of the general vicinity, which is understandable with the whole super-virus running around. I wanted to give a short analysis of the situation.
