By shear traffic used, yes, though I'd question is it takes up more 'space.'

In any case, porns not even number two any more. It was over taken by social media a couple years ago.
I'd imagine it takes up more space, too, with the sheer volume of vacuous bollocks and virus-laden "sites" sitting in stasis for the sole intent of phishing or gathering misplaced clicks.

In comparison, there isn't that much porn. Most porn sites are shells of one another, echoing the same crap, or thinly-disguised search engines.

...Not that I would know. *ahem*

Liiiiiiesss!!!

But you are right. Click on one link, it opens up about three more and the fourth one leads to your browser shutting down and a message popping up saying, "We have shut down your browser. in order for you to use it again you must send us some money via PayPal." Pretty much holding you to ransom.

Yeah, internet porn is fucking flawed and just unsafe as fuck. You'll get more viruses online than you would with unprotected sex with a prostitute.

I can't seem to muster any sympathy for porn companies.

I'm actually of the opinion that it's bad for you and bad for relationships. I've been trying to quit watching the shit. The days I did watch it, I notice how negatively it impacts the relationships I have with others- like I turn into the mode of "I must have sex with this female friend." It's absurd, it turns me into some animal.

Sure, call me weak, that I have no self control. That's stupid- I'm stopping it with self control.

No, I don't think prohibition will stop it. However, we didn't have a tobacco prohibition but it's on the decline in the United States. My parents can attest to how huge the difference is in smoking population from their childhoods til now. It's doable. Porn can be killed.

Comparing pornography to tobacco is... dubious, at best. On pretty much every level I can think of.

I mean, wow. Really? Tobacco, the second worst man made public health issue ever, behind only lead usage. And you want to hold porn up there with it.

Porn shouldn't be killed though. Would that I could ban all that bugs me: but I won't because that is wrong. As far as ruining relationships, I've personally had some absolutely enhanced by it. Your results may vary.

Did you know some researchers believe that data shows that porn could possibly reduce the rate of rape? I'll post a bunch of links here if needed but google works too.
No, just... don't. Even the people who found that link don't really believe it. It's more likely that prosperity and higher standards of living prevent rape. Those are also the conditions that result in higher internet access, which, in turn, increases pornography consumption.

Just stick with the 'prove it's bad for you' argument, because this one's no good.

It could still be true, but if you're going to throw out studies because of possible unknown or correlated factors than many game related studies should be ignored too then.

A more recent take: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/all-about-sex/201601/evidence-mounts-more-porn-less-sexual-assault.
There may not be causation but there is correlation. That also makes it more difficult "prove its bad for ya."
You may want to at least provide primary sources.

That being said, I wouldn't bother on my account. I've looked it up before, and all anyone's really done is put two graphs next to each other and go 'Oh, look, more porn, less rape!' Which is, at best, grounds to do a more comprehensive study. It's not even close to being valid enough to use as an argument in favor of porn.

Its as valid as a lot of the arguments against it with at least a nice possible correlation. Does not make it valid to use as an argument but it is at least as valid as the arguments of porn detractors.
The answer to a flawed argument cannot be another known flawed argument, which you then excuse by pointing out their argument is more flawed.

And I was engaging in a bit of hyperbole. Yes, they compared more then two graphs - They compared a bunch of graphs. Not very compelling. I've never even seen any study that claimed to have any reasoning behind the phenomenon besides the whole 'wealth=internet=porn' one, because there's no logical reason why pornography would stop sexual assaults. For one, a huge portion of sex crimes are not caused directly by sexual urges, and for two, people who commit sexual crimes typically have LOADS of porn.
