Well my experience is that most of them are pretty vile and stupid

Now have you ever talked to a rape victim? I got about 2 friends that where raped and abused by their boyfriends who were in fact about 5 years older then they were.
Now we wouldn't see a rate in rape fall down because we would allow that, hell no.
Most rapists rape because they want power, they want to humiliate people.

Try being a father, now think , would you want your young daughter (lets say 16)to be having sex with older men?
If you meant it in a way that well a 14 year old girl and a 15 year old boy ,then I consider it okay.
But these laws can be taken and used for corrupt things.
I like to think I'd be the cool parent though

It was consentual on both sides, and the man was easily old enough, no crime was committed. Really, we need to lower the legal age, the FBI could then focus on real problems.
Strange, in the by comparison conservative state of texas, age of consent is 17, new york is apparently at 18, this actually surprises me.
