In my country 16 is just within the legal range.

I don't get the Angie Jenkins jokes, someone please fill me in?
It all started from this video, after this it became a fairly famous meme. It's kinda dead now though.
Wow, thats just stupid. And a little weird. But thanks for the info.
The part that always got me with the Leeroy Jenkins video was meeting people who thought it was a real raid and not a staged video made for laughs. The conversation usually went something like this.

"Have you seen that Leeroy Jenkins video? It's hilarious!"
"Yeah, it was funny the first time."
"Man, that guy was an idiot!"
"You know it's fake right? They weren't really raiding, they were just making a video for laughs. There's lots of tells, like saying Leeroy the plate-wearing paladin needed the cloth shoulders that drop? Or how the guy recording is pulling the entire room while he's yelling at Leeroy? That guild, Pals for Life, has a couple other videos on their website, the one they cracked me up with is when they recorded raiding Thunder Bluff, mind controlling players than making them jump off the bridge. They even had gnome mages jump down with them for like a sky-cam view of them plummeting to their deaths. That was funny."

At that point they looked at me like I just informed them Santa Claus is fake and I ate the Easter Bunny.

On topic, I think the whole thing is messed up no matter how you look at it. 21 years is a gigantic gap.

Well, I had a sugar mama too when I first started out in WoW. Hell of a nice lass, didn't live too far away, but I think I drove her away with too much self-deprecating humor and a gross lack of of a clue (game-wise; I can utterly destroy a game once I get the hang of it, but when I'm first starting out, I'm sincerely retarded. It's why I'm only now getting into EndWar. This has nothing to do with the rest of the post. My bad.)

For all of you kids out there playing World of Warcraft, be vigilant. That cute Night Elf that is totally into you may actually be a mother in her mid-thirties. You probably shouldn't meet them in a parking lot.

Is this really the kind of message we want to send people? Really? Don't have parking lot sex with 35-year-old MILFs?!

DAMN YOU AMERICA!! DAMN YOU TO HELL!

A lot of people are leaving out the fact that the kid lied about his age too.
But she had already known before they met in person that he was really 16. It didnt say, but he must have known she was older than 21...

I heard or read somewhere that men's sexual peak is 13 and women's start around 30, which doesn't mean I condone breaking the law, but essentially I'm not sure a jail custodial sentence for a victimless crime is a sensible judgement.
The woman is a mother-who will look after her kids while she's in jail, as for the boy, I don't know about you, but by 16, it's not like I don't know how to make decisions, certainly I'm not really a "child" but figuring out adult things. if he goes to Juve that's fine but he's heading for a very different sexual experience in a real jail. It all smacks of "Epic Fail!".

This is sad. I say this a lot, but why date a person you don't know? Learn about the person you want to date, seriously. I actually play a female elf paladin on DDO because I modelled her after my girlfriend since I miss her so much. But that goes to show that online anyone can be anything. An older man playing a female character could set up a hookup with a teenage boy and, possibly molest him. GET TO KNOW PEOPLE!

The internet is good because it lets you be anonymous, but that anonymity can be used as a weapon. Use common sense.

In the case of the woman, though, she knew he was a minor even though they were having sex anyway. She was fooled, but when the truth came out she did nothing about it.

There are good cases of online hookups, but I'm only talking about the risks here.

Victimless crime much?
In this case what you say kind of applies, but this excuse is growing old. Victimless crime? The only reason any law is on the books is because the government ddoesn't want it to happen. Victims don't factor into it. Oftenn that is the motive for making somethiing illegal, but a crime is anything the government deems bad for society at large. You want this changed? Call your congressman to add a consent clause or something, but laws don't work on the scale of whether there's a victim or not. Perjury is always a crime even if your only intent was to hide the fact from the court that you were at home watching porn instead of robbing a bank, because you said you were at Wendy's getting a Frosty. You lied to the court, whether you robbed that bank or not. Not only is your testimony tainted, but you broke the law.

Also this has much to do with parental consent issues. As far as the law is concerned, you are owned by your parents until you are 18. Whether this is right or wrong isn't the issue ATM. You don't have the consent of the parents.

But how can it be bad for the society at large that any two people have consentual sex?(Not factoring in STDs since that isnt the question here)

Is it right to punish lovers just because the law condemns them?

How the hell did the FBI get involved in that?

Is the FBI monitoring WoW chat?
Did a WoW Gamemaster knock on the car window?
Did the police found them during the tank&spank session?

And most of all: Show me pics of that woman!!!
