Didn't help much with DX 2 didn't help much with the SDK even tho he stayed in dev speak mode well after any hope of it being out was squashed..... proby not entirely his fault but frankly I don't care if you put your name on something and don't make it worth while you are lost to me.JEBWrench said:Well, can't argue now.

What bit him please? "fake" 3D good? Sorry, but he must have been on drugs when he did that. Fake 3D is the biggest crap in existence even if you can get it working without glasses (at exactly ONE spot which is even totally at the wrong place for anybody except a handful of people!). Only "true" 3D is worth it and this simply requires additional equipment. So yes, 3DS "is" a huge gimmick.
"High-powered graphics?" Okay, it has better graphics but calling that life changing is a bit far fetched
"A ton of great-looking games from classic series?" Since when are rehashes great and life changing? Granted classics are nice but why buy them twice? (ah I get it, to rip money out of customers pockets... it prints money!)
"Glasses-free 3D?" As mentioned above, fad, gimmick, BAD! That's all there is to say about this 3D fad going on. If you've ever seen true 3D you're going to puke over this fake 3D crap going on. Hurts the eyes and brain and doesn't look good in the end. But I guess if you don't know how the "real" deal works you can consider any crap gold

Or do we take the opinion of the well known, popular and successful professional game developer who has had a first hand look at the 3DS and what it can do...
hmmm... Gimme a second, this is a tricky one.
I think I'm jaded with Nintendo consoles.
Part of me wants to go "HOLY SHIT 3DS WITH NO GLASSES!!@#$!" and say all sorts of things great about the 3DS and Nintendo and buy the thing day one.
The other part of me, however, keeps on reminding the other part that "You don't play with your Wii or DS, you hardly have any games for either of them, and Nintendo did the exact thing with the Wii and DS. Don't get your hopes up." and is generally extremely skeptical of the system itself.
I want to love Nintendo, I really do, but I'm just not into their games. I'm not a handheld guy, so I know that eventually I'm just gonna stop caring about my 3DS if I do buy one. And no matter what "hardcore" games I get for my Wii, I eventually just stop playing them in a week or two.
GOD! I hate Nintendo but I love 'em at the same time.

Not gonna happen. Some of us 3D haters aren't hating because we think it's a useless fad, we're hating because we can not, and never will, be able to see 3D. You need both eyes working together to perceive 3D, period. There are a lot of people who don't have that, and for us, 3D will never be worth anything. Hell, I can't even see real life in 3D, I doubt the 3DS is going to do anything for me, except maybe look blurry.HaraDaya said:

You honestly think that strumming your guitar in your spare time is a comparable experience to something that will have a huge effect on the way games are designed and played. New technology gives him more tools to work with, a new outlet for his creativity. Games are his passion, they're his life, they're something he creates.
I can't imagine anyone needs more justification than that, but if you really don't get it, just keep in mind, to others, a guitar is just an instrument. Sure as hell not a life changing experience.
Considering that the handhelds have arguably been Nintendo's biggest success, I can't say I'm surprised. I'm eagerly awaiting the day I can pick up a 3DS, I still have the original DS (the big clunky kind) I meant to get a DSi, but I'm glad I waited for this beauty.

Hate is really too strong a word. I just don't have any use for it, and don't want to find myself paying more for games because the publishers/developers spent time and money to add a feature that I can't even use. I believe it was EA's people who already mentioned that 3D games might cost an extra premium. Might have been another publisher, but it was definitely said. Doesn't really bother me, so long as non-3D versions of games are available with the usual pricing.HaraDaya said:
