Consider the tone of your voice, that has more effect rather than what you said.
Indeed, I don't think she would of gotten so mad if it was said in a soft polite way. Yet, you never know, if you did say it in a nice way then she had no reason to get mad.

No.

My thought's exactly. I've been trying to fight them cunts with politeness and reason. When that doesn't work, my inner nerd awakens and I use their ragging against them, break their entire rant down to grammatical errors and allusion faults, as well as explaining their naiveness in the matter. That'll show them. I love reading too much into things. :D

Lots of people overreact at the littlest of problems. That's what you get when you work with....people...

Also first post.

This, unless you didn't say exactly what you said you said (lol paradox). I'd understand her behavior if you were like *D:<*'PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH THE GLASS, OR I WILL BE FORCED TO USE DEADLY WEAPONRY TO NEUTRALIZE THIS THREAT TO THE RESTARAUNT..' 'But I was just--' *kid touches glass* 'BAH! DESTRUCTION..IMMENENT...IMMA FIREN MAH LAZ0R BEYATCH'

Something like that.

On the bright side you can post your story at notalwaysright.com
Ohhh!

I have not been there in so long. It is a great site and I advice everyone here with even a sliver of faith in humanity to go there. I had so very little and still it managed to make me feel worse for the sake of humanity!

Great site indeed.

Hell no.You were actually being polite by saying please. And hell, you had just cleaned the window so it is easily understandable why you got irked by them touching that glass.

And she was just being a *****.

I just got one of my family friends hooked on that site tonight. It's a wonder some of those people can manage to breathe.

Actually, allow me to share a similar story about my cousin Keith, a chiropractor.

Some woman in her 70s or 80s (can't remember how old she was, just know she was super old [/rudeness off])and came in asking for him to fix her back. So he did. That's his job, right? She felt fine afterwards and returned home. There were no problems. So later on in the week, she comes back seemingly calm but frustrated at her old back pain coming back (I can't word it better :<). He asked whether she did anything that would hurt it. She says 'Ofcourse not!' and for some reason gets offended by this. He backs off, and just puts her in the chiropractor chair, whatever the hell that's called. Then he asks her how she's been doing after working on her back, and she goes 'How the fuck do you think I'm doing?!'. He's obviously taken aback, and starts asking her other questions which she responds to with the same rudeness, and she starts criticizing his job.

Later on in the appointment, he goes 'Well, you felt fine before, have you done anything that would hurt your back?'. She swears again. And he repeats the question alot. Finally when she walks out, she says she tried lifting a tractor. A fucking tractor. In her 80s. And I mean a john deer tractor.

*facepalm*

True story. Seriously, he shared this with the family during Christmas Dinner.

Nah, its just sometimes, if you end up standing by your logic (which is obviously correct), you end up losing more than you gain.

As hillarious as this is, if I tried that, I would be fired before I could say "SHOOP DE WHOOP"

Unfortunately this is one of those situations where even though you were totally justified, you probably shouldn't have said anything and just cleaned the glass after the ***** left.

The old saying "The customer is always right" needs to be amended with "Even if they're a complete fucking moron."

Thats one of the many, MANY reasons I got out of any kind of customer service job & now I'm my own boss. Don't like it? THERE'S THE (virtual) DOOR.

Chalk it up to experience and no, I don't think you were being rude.

I work at a bar, and I totally hear you. I can't tell you how much I hate it when I'm trying to leave and people are just being unnecessarily asshole-ish. I once had someone ask me for a beer thirty minutes after last call, and when I told him we'd shut the taps, he called me a ***** and stomped off.

People are assholes, there's just no decorum any more :(((

I honestly don't think you were rude, though I have to say I do it too. If it was me in your shoes, I would have smacked the crap out of her.
